Letty Mae's Tea Room — Restaurant in Morris

My husband picked this place for my birthday luncheon. He did good! I actually went in already deciding that this type of place was not “my cup of tea.” I was so wrong. When I saw that the staff were excited about the menu and ingredients I decided to eat things the way they came, Instead of making my own boring creation of my own ”safe foods”. I was delighted with their interesting pairings of flavors. If you pay attention to the food each ingredient had its own flavor space in the dish. Everything complimentary, and balanced. Unfortunately the only nice thing I have to say about this place is that it is adorable! We went in, were seated, a few minutes later a waitress took our drink order and said she'd be back. We waited between 15-20 minutes and she never came back even though we were close to her drink station and the place wasn't that crowded at all. At first when she was delivering other table's food we tried being understanding, but after that long of a wait and watching her start clearing dirty dishes off of other tables we just walked out. If you’re planning some girl time, Letty Mae’s is a great choice! The charming atmosphere is a 10/10. Staff is friendly and welcoming (I love the choice of floral masks as they adhere to Covid guidelines). My mom and I went for the first time today and we enjoyed our tea and lunch. Chicken pot pie soup was delicious! It was a daily special, so not always available. Sandwiches were okay but simple. I think I would try a salad next time.
