McBride's Morris — Restaurant in Morris

My first experience at McBride’s may well be my last. The noise generated by high volume music mixed with customer conversations puts one into a dining stupor. It was difficult to enjoy the food because of the concussion of sound. Part of the experience was being surprised that the theme of the restaurant didn’t live up to an expectation that something called McBride’s was actually a sports bar. With a name like that, and its outside appearance, I was expecting an interpretation of a pub like experience. It’s not. Loud and numerous large TV screens are the order. Food: it was good and at a fair monetary price, but it was way too much to pay putting up with the deafening environment. Given the ages of the customers around me I can’t imagine many were thrilled with their experience either. But, I guess that is what ownership wants. It’s their business.

First time here. Girls shopping in downtown Morris, then lunch at McBride's. Everything started out well, until my sister was about 3 bites into to her Chicken avocado salad and she found a "bright, shiny, new penny a 2025!! We immediately notified our food server, then he notified our waiter. The reaction was "oh wow, that's a penny" "wonder how it got in there". First of all, she could have choked on it had she not seen it, or broke a tooth and finally it is dirty and gross. I asked for the manager and he too was not concerned, but was apologetic. Here's the thing, how the heck did the penny get in the salad!! I hope McBride's researched this incident and spoke to the kitchen staff. We’ve been to the McBrides in Joliet on 52…and the aesthetics and atmosphere of the new Morris location was above and beyond! Nicole our waitress was awesome and attentive and the food was amazing! We had the shepherds pie and garlic chicken pasta as well as the cookie skillet. If you like Old Fashioned drinks, then you’ve GOT to try theirs, the Morris Old Fashioned. The owner was in the restaurant and came over to see how everything was! She was incredibly down to earth to talk to. We will DEFINITELY be frequent visitors of the new Morris McBrides!!
