I really hate to leave a bad review :(
I don't eat any kind of animal products at all. When I went the other day I asked about the hummus bowl which is still listed online but is no longer on the menu (I guess it was seasonal). I was kind of panicked since I went to the deli for that dish since it was vegan.
The hostess asked what I could eat- and I told her anything not made with animal products. Then she asked if I could eat Mayonnaise. Which I said I could not.
She recommended the veg head bowl. And it was absolutely amazing.
But for a few days I have been really bothered since I didn't consider it when I ordered the bowl- was the sriracha aoli vegan? Because she specifically asked if I eat Mayonnaise I had assumed that it was.
I finally called up there today since I wanted to go back and get another bowl- but I just had to know if the sauce was vegan. The very first ingredient I was told? Mayonnaise. That was a tragedy. And it is the first time since adopting a vegan lifestyle that I have been fed something that wasn't vegan.
I know this isn't a vegan restaurant- but this should be treated similarly to gluten or peanut allergies in the sense that staff should be at least aware of what is in the different products. It would be very easy to switch to a vegan sriracha aoli. And it would offer a menu item for people who don't eat animals.
Thank you...
Read moreAlways good food and friendly atmosphere. Update on 1-4-24: Still a great place took eat. Great food and great staff. Plenty of parking, good seating inside and some outside seating when weather permits. Split a smokey turkey panini with house made chips and water today with my wife.... delicious with excellent brown mustard on the sandwich. They have a small selection of beers and a large selection of desserts. Great locally owned place for lunch or dinner. 8-26-24: as good as always. Split an average Joe with turkey, Swiss and mustard instead of mayo. So good and fresh....sweet tea is one of the best and a great staff.
10-22-24: shared the new Pueblo Panini with the chicken option (can get pork as well). Great flavor with a nice amount of spice kick....the chicken is fresh sliced breast not processed chicken. We will definitely try the pork in the future
12-20-24: today we had the new Turkey Mushroom Melt with homemade chips. Awesome flavor combination on this rye bread sandwich....the garlic-herb mayo is also great to dip the chips in if you order it on the side, may be a new favorite .
9-12-25: We've visited here so many times this summer, great place to stop for a late lunch, we always split one of the above sandwiches....just the right amount to not be overly full. Great staff and...
Read moreWhen you enter the building the first feeling you get is happiness and calmness. The building is clean and inviting, there is several colors on the walls with a nice soft lighting that makes everything feel nice. I ordered the Chicken Basil Flatbread with a side of chips. And a birthday cake slice for dessert First off: the dish arrived looking splendid and full, the chicken was slightly dry but combined with the bell pepper slices and tomatoes it tasted amazing. The lettuce on the bread was not completely soggy or completely dry which made a great taste, the cheese sauce that was layered under the lettuce made the flatbread slightly soft to the middle and more stiff on the edges which made a perfect texture. The chips that came with the main dish seemed to be Kettle chips and had a perfect satisfying crunch. As for the dessert it was not completely dry but more to the dry side. The frosting was buttercream (my favorite). After you pay you get a table marker and go choose your own table. Once your food is done they bring it right to you. A woman named Kacey (I believe this is how to spell it) that had been working here for about 5 months at the time of this review took the order and brought the food out and was very very friendly and nice. I am very happy with the service here...
