I purchased two recliners on October 26, 2023 and picked them up on October 27, 2023. The price was high at $1,200 without delivery. I get there and both recliners are out of the boxes and wrapped in plastic, so I can test them, but, assuming they were both ânewâ recliners, I loaded on my trailer and took home with me. I get them in my house and sit in them, that is when the problem starts. One of the recliners was obviously the floor model, and the mechanism was loose and would not lock in place correctly, the chair just seemed like it was broken or something, so I called Jordan Taylor immediately upon discovering this. They said they didnât have the correct part or another chair like this in stock, that they would order the mechanism for the chair and also send a tech out to make sure that was the problem. After a couple of weeks, the tech finally contacts me and comes to my house to check the recliner. He confirmed I needed a new mechanism, and that when they got it back in stock, he would return and install and repair the mechanism. I am writing this review in January 2024. I just called and asked about the repair of my chair. I was informed that the parts were not yet there, and she had no idea of when they would be in. She also said I was not the only one with this problem, and that COVID was the reason they canât get parts. I said donât you have another of these chairs in stock, she says âno, if I did you would have itâ. I donât really believe this as if that were the case, they would have had someone call me and let me know there was a problem. I said do I just call back in a month or so to check, and she said âyes, that would be a good ideaâ that they would install when they get the part. I donât really believe them at this point, as I have ordered other items myself that have come from China, and have gotten them during this waiting time. She said my chair was under warranty and not to worry, but having a warranty on an item that you cannot get a part for, and cannot have replaced is really like going to a yard sale and buying somebodyâs used recliner. They should not sell the floor items that everybody sits in without checking to make sure they are working correctly. I have learned and $1,200 lesson that I will live with for a while. I plan on saving up again and going to buy a recliner that is correctly working. Anybody that buys a new recliner wants it to work correctly, or otherwise they would just buy a used one for $25 and not be upset everytime they sit in it knowing how much it cost. I would advise anybody considering a purchase here to understand that the warranty is conditional on their ability to secure parts, which seems to be impossible or close to it, then also consider if you want to pay a large price for what is basically a used chair, as it canât be fixed or replaced, which is why you would buy something new instead of used. I plan on adding to this review each month from now on until I get this issue resolved. So, if you are interested, check back in February to see if I hear anything from them, or especially, to see if this chair ever gets fixed. P.S. I was not offered a discount for the floor model as it says in the response.
February 2024 Follow up: Repairman came to my house on Jan 31, 2024 and spent over 5 hours trying to fix and failed because the new parts that took 3 months to order were damaged in shipping, and were not checked at the store before scheduling me to take a day off for this repair. He left my house a week ago and have not heard back from the store yet. I called and the owners were in Las Vegas, NV at a furniture show and was assured they would call me back. How I wish I had just went to Big Lots and bought a Chinese recliner, it would have been a better value for the money paid. When I called last month for an update, I was told not to worry, I had a two year warranty. I now know that the two year warranty means it will take them two years to do anything to fix them. I bought a recliner from them in March 2021. It broke in June 2021. They said they would repair it and sent out a guy to look at it. He had to order a part (this was July 2021). I heard nothing so called back and was told the manufacturer was going to send someone to fix it. Again heard nothing so I called back and was told it was still the manufacture fixing it but was given no way to get in touch with them. Kept calling back and in March 2022, they finally said I could come in and pick out a new one. When I got there they said it had to be the same brand and they only had one in stock and it was already sold. They then said they would order me a replacement. Cushions started breaking down in a few months. Made several calls to get them fixed. While waiting sofa recliner on one side broke.
