Every franchise has a bad day or night. This was unfortunately the case when I dined in with a friend on the evening of 2/15/2024. Having otherwise normally experienced good service and relatively decent food here, the consistency of the experience was the greatest hope. This is also the manager's greatest hope: keep doing something well people will come back to repeat the experience.
First issue: we tend to keep our tabs separate and in fact informed our server of this. I chose to use the electronic ordering mechanism whereas my companion placed their orders directly with our server. As soon as I opened my electronic tab it seems the two were merged. Why? You have the ability to keep these separate. Why cause your diners further hassle and yourself by trying to extricate everything later? In the end we were so rushed that I ended up paying the eye-watering $75 myself (four drinks, wings, fries, non-existent cake).
Second issue: I ordered mild wings which clean took the lining out from inside my mouth. Dear god the tears are streaming down my face just recalling the horror.
Third issue: to placate the burning/screaming sensation coming from my mouth I ordered dessert. The app let me. Time had flown and apparently everything magically transformed into pumpkins because it was gone 11pm. We hadn't realized and my order had been accepted, paid for and my cake lost somewhere in the mists of time. The abyss formerly known as the kitchen still held my order in a fridge somewhere and our clearly overworked server did offer to bring me the item to go. But I had wanted to enjoy my dessert there and if it wasn't available to be clearly told so and have the item removed from the bill.
Fourth issue: the staff was clearly overworked. I place no blame here on the two valiant heroes who were attempting to shut-up shop around us. They were clearly trying their level best to do the work of twice as many. But mistakes happened. An order or mayo came after the fries I wanted to eat it with were finished. The lost cake. Drink orders, which I thought you'd want to serve as soon as humanly possible to accelerate profits, were late. The merging of the tabs.
While this all sounds like a bleaker Dr Who episode where they're circling some galatic drain, a great vortex of time seeking to consume diners, servers, drink and food alike in to an abyss-like vortex, it was in reality just downright upsetting. Lost to the aforementioned vortex are $75 and an hour-and-a-half of my life I will never get back.
Save yourselves. You've...
Read moreOrdered takeout wings for the super bowl. Let me start by saying that the only thing making this review 3 stars instead of 1 is the incredible patience shown by the takeout counter workers who were absolutely slammed all night with orders and dealt with people being downright nasty to them the entire time while maintaining a positive attitude. They truly went above and beyond and I am still not sure how they did not just walk out in frustration.
I am not sure if the fault lies with this particular restaurant's management or with the corporate team but it was clear they were overwhelmed tonight and did not have plans in place. I arrived on time to pick up my order and there was a massive line full of people waiting to pick up takeout orders who had already been waiting for 1-2 hours. The staff admitted to having so many orders that they could not even print them all out. There was no organization on where to get your order and BDubs has no system in place to let the customer know via the app or website when their order is in the process of being made or when it is done and ready to pick up (which somehow every other chain on earth is able to do).
The overwhelmed staff were trying there best to keep up but they were put in a horrible position. The online system had no cut offs in place for when it got too busy and they did not have enough hands to get it all done in a timely manner. I ended up leaving and coming back an hour later to pick up my order (at that point 2.5 hours after it was supposed to be ready). The poor workers were still dealing with hoards of Uber Eats & Grubhub drivers who were relentlessly harassing them.
For the super bowl and other big game days how is there no process in place to limit online orders so they stay at a manageable number. Why is there no additional help on staff? Why were the poor workers left to deal with throngs of unruly customers with no security in place to help them? At one point they even tried to get people to wait off to the side to keep things orderly and the people refused to move. This was a COMPLETE mismanagement from the higher ups in Bdubs (one again NOT from the workers who performed admirably considering what they were left to deal with). One simple solution: mount a few TVs that show what orders are ready to be picked up, what orders are being worked on, and what have yet to be started...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience we had. When we arrived the dining room was practically empty. I chose to have us sit on the bar side due to less people since we had our young children with us. Starting with ordering our drinks, I ordered an alcoholic beverage and order my husband a sweet tea while he was in the bathroom, telling her that he may want to order an alcoholic drink when she comes back. She never asked him. My drink was not made properly either. When we ordered our appetizer and the kids food, the serve waits until the appetizer should almost be brought out and tells me that they were out of what I had ordered. Would have been nice to know almost 10 minutes ago. I decided to not order anything else for an app and instead place my husband's and my food order. I know how to place my order very precisely. I gave the server every detail of our request from temperature to seasonings to be added, etc. About half and hour later my husband's food comes out, WRONG and my food no where in sight. After having to flag down a different employee because our server refused to come check on us, his plate was sent back to the kitchen. When I saw the manager walking around, I voiced my concerns about my order still not arriving (10 wings and it has been almost 45 minutes) they finally brought it out almost another 10 minutes later and when I told the manager that it was ridiculous for me to have to wait that long, he shrugged his shoulders and said that there were other tables that had waited over an hour, which was not true because we were one of the first tables to come in before their rush. Still no server to come check on us so none of us received refills on our drinks and I couldn't order another drink from the bar. The only time our server ever came back to the table to check on us was when it was time for her to bring the check. I was absolutely appalled at her lack of customer service and even more appalled at the manager's reaction to how this location is being ran. Our server spent more time tending to the table of hot drunk guys watching the game and not ordering any food (only beers) than she did to us. I have never in my life received such little service. Having to wait that long and receive below sub par quality service and food, it was absolutely...
