This was the worst experience I’ve ever had a restaurant and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. My coworker and I visited this restaurant today for the first time. I got the chicken and shrimp plate with just zucchini. The food was prepared pretty quickly so the wait time is great. However the food is BLAND! The rice has absolutely no flavor and there was barely any chicken which isn’t normal for a hibachi restaurant. On top of that my chicken was barely cooked. I tried drenching my food in white sauce to add flavor but there was so much juice from I don’t know what at the bottom of my plate that the white sauce didn’t stand a chance. My friend got the steak and shrimp plate but barely had any meat. Her plate was full of vegetables though. I went back inside and explained the situation and that I wasn’t satisfied respectfully. I was told I could either get my food remade or $7 out of my $10 refunded. I asked if the food would be prepared better or the same way cause I didn’t want “the same thing”. I was told by the cashier that it’d be cooked the same way. So because of that I asked for a refund. The cashier called his manager. His manager proceeds to tell me tons of people love this place and that “you can’t go somewhere and try food and if you don’t like it ask for your money back.” I felt insulted especially since I used to work in food many years and there was plenty times I took care of dissatisfied customers. The manager didn’t even offer for my food to be remade and that he knows his employees always cooks each meal perfectly. Wow. I left the plate on the counter and left because at that point I was disgusted. For $10 I could’ve gotten a way better meal...
Read moreReally not a good experience. For starters, the decor, if you can even call it that, is about as bare-bones as possible. The bottom of the front counter is wrapped in brown paper, there are exposed pieces of sheetrock (some of which are hanging), and there's an exposed bare concrete floor. No painted drywall, no floor tiles, no carpet, no murals, no decorations, no ceiling tiles, nothing! I cannot believe that they even opened in this state, I cannot believe they were even granted a license to operate. If you don't have the money to make the restaurant look nice, don't open the restaurant!
On top of that, the food was terrible. I ordered some salmon sushi and the steak and scallop hibachi, I couldn't even finish the hibachi. The scallops smelled like they weren't fresh, like they had sat for several days. I had to stop eating, I was worried I'd get sick. If that's not enough, even the sushi was poorly done. Sushi is one those things, either you can make it or you can't, but even if it's not on the level of Morimoto but you can make it, it's pretty good. This sushi was falling apart, like they didn't know that you're supposed to use sticky rice and not just regular rice. I can't believe that the health inspector gave them a 98.0! The health inspector themself should be investigated for such an egregious oversight!
All in all, the cooks can't cook, the owner went into business without having a clue what they were doing, and I feel sorry for the young lady behind the counter. I hope she can find a better job at a more competent business. Do yourself a favor and avoid this trainwreck. If I hadn't been so hungry, I would have...
Read moreFood: i ordered 2 dishes and they both were just “meh” (and that is from my hungry teenager). The vegetables tasted like they hit the pan and were immediately taken off after 5 seconds. They hide the 5 pieces of chicken they give you by putting your food in a large container with a good amount of rice and vegetables. The “soba” noodles are just spaghetti noodles and the overall taste of the hibachi is not like other hibachi we have tried.
Service: I WOULD GIVE IT 0 STARS IF I COULD!!! When you order at the counter there is a menu that says “ base” “ protein” “sauce” and it list prices to the side based on how many proteins you choose. WELL I chose 2 proteins and teriyaki sauce and the base price was more than the menu listed and they charged me an extra $1 for teriyaki sauce. Then I ordered a kids meal and the guy kept trying to charge me for an adult meal, charged me extra for soba noodles, and extra for teriyaki. I repeated multiple times that i wanted a kids meal. Then he finally went back and changed it. Nonetheless, none of these additional charges were listed on the menu. Legally speaking I could have argued against the $5 in extra charges but I was tired and it had been a long day.
Atmosphere: I frequent the shopping center and saw several months ago that the shop was being renovated. Present day it still looks like it is being renovated. There is no “atmosphere” just seems like a business that is unorganized and still trying to get their stuff together although they have been there for years.
Overall: I (nor my family) will be going back. I would rather spend a more and get better quality food and service...
