Went on a Wednesday night around 6:30. Sign asked for patience as they are experiencing staff shortage. A common occurrence in these times. Wasn’t terribly busy, but more seats in main dining room were taken than not. First impressions. Was asked to have a seat while they cleaned the table. Table was not terribly dirty. It was cleaned quickly and we were seated. Tables are arranged in a manner that you are not sitting on top of the table next to you, which is very nice. You can have a conversation without being overheard. Music was playing and it was not too loud. We were waited on in quickly enough but not too fast that we didn’t have time to look at the menu. Stop in the bathroom found it be CLEAN! While a little outdated, the toilets were clean as well as the floor and it did not have a bathroom odor. Food came out in a timely manner and the food was really good. My husband is Cuban so we’ve been to more than a few Cuban restaurants. I had the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce with white rice and a side of black beans and maduros. My husband the typical pork with black beans and rice with fried yuca and maduros. A solid meal for a great price. You get 3 sides which is unheard of! Meal came to $68 which included a Malta and pepsi. We also got an appetizer of beef empanadas which did not come out until after the meal. That was the only issue but it was no big deal. We brought them home for lunch the next day. Good meal, good service at a good price. Would recommend and we will...
Read moreI applied to work for this establishment a month ago and was told they needed help. I had explained that I am homeless trying to get myself together. They told me they were willing to work with me and I could fill out an application and do and interview the following Tuesday. I went early because I never want to be late. I meet the person doing my interview outside and he tells me to fill out the application he has an emergency and won't be able to see me until a few days. I filled out the application and kept calling up there for the next few days to see when I could get the interview. The staff told me he had a family member die and won't be back for 3 to 4 weeks. I called a few days ago to see if they still needed help. The Manager had returned and told me yes come on Tuesday for the interview. I arrive early again and wait outside. I get to the door and the manager tells me they already have someone and doesn't even give me an interview. This is the most let down I have ever been. I don't even want to work for an establishment who would treat someone like this and lead them on only to shut the door in their face. I waited a month to hear we already found someone when they could have just told me they weren't...
Read moreI highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and I are both of Hispanic origin and love any type of Latin food. That being said, I had seen the sign on I-40 with the name of this restaurant about a year ago, but for some reason, I thought it was a small take-out type of place. Therefore, we never made the effort to go. Now I regret it! We could have been enjoying their delicious food and friendly service for the past year. I think it will quickly become one of our top 3 favorite restaurants. We each had a Pina Colada with our dinner. The drinks were really good, the food was 😋 and the atmosphere was very comfortable and casual with nice music playing. The layout is pretty open, tables not right on top of each other. Place looks really small from outside, but don't let it deceive you. It is much nicer inside and bigger than you realize. I understand they also have a dance floor and offer Salsa dance nights where you can take lessons for a small fee. This is definitely a hidden gem in my book. Works for a family dinner with kids but also for a date night. Really enjoyed...keeping it on my mind for birthdays and special occasions...they also take reservations....
