Update: The reply below from the owner is correct in that I did assume the older gentleman who spoke with me was the owner, which I guess was my mistake. He didn't seem to be a chef. The rest happened exactly as I stated. Regarding his knowing how to put a discount in the system for a credit card transaction, he literally said to me after a moment of tapping the screen, "I don't know how to do that." Do with that feedback what you will.
Original review: So I'll start by saying the food was actually very good. Some of the best in the area, judging by the Biryani's we got. And it's fairly reasonably priced for the area. However, I'm not sure I'll go here again because 1) the owner is not polite or friendly, bordering on rude 2) biggest reason: my food was 40 minutes late. 3) pretty much 0 customer service. I ordered online via their own website for pickup at 11:45am. I arrived at 11:50am. No one in sight. Waited 10 minutes before the owner came out of the back and brusquely asked if I wanted to order or was picking up and then said "It's not ready yet. Have a seat." Nothing else. And disappeared again. He reappeared 15 min later, and I had to flag him down to ask about my order (a small order--two items, btw). "5 minutes" he said and disappeared again. Another lady came in while he was gone, looked around for a few minutes and finally sat down and asked if I was waiting for a pick-up order. I said yes and it was supposed to be ready 30 min ago, and she said she'd been here once before and also had to wait 25 minutes extra for her food. Finally, my order was ready, 40 minutes after the pick-up time, and I was 30 minutes late back to work. I had to ask for a discount (he offered a single mango lassi for the wait, lol), he didn't know how to process it on the computer, so I offered to pay cash to make the discount easier for him. He cut off $7 from the order (25%ish). Gee thanks. Honestly, I'm not sure how this place has stayed open for a year; there was no one dining in either. Kudos to the latino cooks I heard in the kitchen, though, because again, the actual food was great once I...
Read moreIt's been a while that i had been to any Indian restaurant, until We had neighborhood Diwali party, i am part of Food committee. I had shopped around and gathered quotes from different Indian restaurants. While shopping came to know about this place JP's Biryani a new place in town. Reached out to them. Spoke to Mr JP the owner, who is patient enough to answer all my questions in tens of calls. Received the best quote out of all... I was impressed, but i was skeptical about the taste, before i place an order for a event of 130 people. Couldn't take any chances, so I had stopped by at the restaurant randomly to try the food. Just by seeing the board which is not a permanent board with lights.. etc. understood its pretty new. Place is not huge, small cozy place. Ambience was so welcoming. They welcomed me pleasantly. One was checking the customers how the food tasted. I didn't mention anything about the food order and the quote i received, I had ordered the items that committee had short listed and one other item which was Mutton ghee roast Biryani the taste was heavenly, to my surprise the taste was amazing for the other items as well. At the end i had introduced myself and Placed the order for the coming weekend. All went well at the restaurant. On the day of the event, 2 people came to deliver the food, They had set up everything, hot boxes, fuel.. etc. I was nervous that if the food will be sufficient or not but the quantities, they didn't compromise or they didn't think of making business on the quantities. The food was so excess that everyone got ToGo as well. that was the cherry on the top. Huge applause to the food committee and everyone enjoyed the food. Spice levels are Just perfect.
I am not associated with this restaurant at all. I am a happy happy customer and a new restaurant needs to be known to everyone. I am sure, i'll be the frequent customer to this place.
Thank you Mr JP once again and Wish you...
