Overall Rating: 5.8/10 This dining spot provides a casual family-style atmosphere with service that outshines its setting, delivering a mixed experience where respectful, attentive service compensates for an ambiance that lacks professionalism and cleanliness.
Atmosphere: 5.7/10 The restaurant offers a low-tier family vibe that feels more like a takeout place with a decent dining area rather than a refined eatery. The less-than-pristine condition contributes to a casual, unpolished dining atmosphere.
Service: 6.2/10 Service was a highlight, characterized by extremely respectful and attentive staff. The cold water service was prompt, and the staff made efforts to ensure accuracy by reviewing the receipt, indicating a commitment to customer satisfaction despite the busy environment.
Food:
General Tso Chicken: 5.3/10 While the chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy, the flavor profile leaned towards a bold soy tang rather than the expected spicy sweetness. The inclusion of unwanted carrots and the absence of chili peppers detracted from the authenticity of the dish.
Beef Fried Rice: 6.3/10 The rice was freshly cooked, fluffy, and light, with well-cooked beef and a satisfactory portion size. However, the flavor was somewhat bland, needing more seasoning to elevate it.
Cheese Wonton: 2.2/10 This dish was disappointing, with a hard, stale shell that lacked the expected crispiness and flakiness. The overall quality and taste were underwhelming.
Pork Lo Mein: 6.2/10 The noodles were flavorful, with a bold Lo Mein taste and well-cooked beef, making this dish one of the more successful offerings.
Value: 6.1/10 The pricing aligns with the quality and overall dining experience, making it a fair choice for those seeking a casual meal without high expectations for the dining...
Read moreOverkill on the Covid precautions... they keep the door locked (and the glass is blacked out) so you have to call them when you arrive to pick up your order (like curbside pickup, but without the convenience of waiting in your car). I placed my order online and was given an estimate of about 15 minutes. I received no further updates even though the system is set up to show when your order is being prepared and then ready for pickup. Eventually after the estimated time had passed, I called and they brought my food out and took payment. Got to my car and found there were no chopsticks in the bag, so I had to call again to get chopsticks. Overall an awkward and annoying process.
The food (house lo mein—meaning chicken, beef and shrimp) was bland until I added a packet of soy sauce (then decent). The meats/shrimp were not tender (overcooked), and a bit excessive for the amount of noodles/veggies, which were ultimately the more enjoyable part of the dish but...
Read moreI love when I come here! I originally found them here on Google. The man that works up front and the lady who works with him are the sweetest people I have ever met. He reminds me so much of my grandfather with how sweet he is and how thoughtful he is. Like it’s always their pleasure to serve you and welcome you. Nothing is an inconvenience to them. And when I went to tip them yesterday he told me it was too much and I assured him it was well deserved. Another sign this is their pleasure, not for the money. Im a creature of habit so they call out my order sometimes before I can even say it hahahaha. I wish them the most amazing and successful holiday and new year!
I always order: spicy cucumber salad (the entire bomb… it’s sooooo good), white rice, and some variation of a fried shrimp dish (yesterday I got the salt and pepper shrimp)
