Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Morrisville

I flew out of Raleigh on October 12 , 2021 and I had to make one more stop at Smithfield's before I went back to Las Vegas . I make it back to the Carolinas about every 3 years to vacation and visit family and friends . I am a fan of the Fried Chicken and of course the Carolina Pulled Pork BBQ . In Vegas we have a lot of BBQ places , but most are Texas or Memphis Style . Only 2 places make a Carolina Vinegar Sauce for the Pulled Pork . Of course only one of them is any good . They make great Brisket and Hot Links in Vegas though .

I first had Smithfield's in Laurinburg , North Carolina in September of 2019 and loved the Pulled Pork Sandwich . I noticed some ladies eating some delicious looking fried chicken , so I came back the next night for dinner and flipped over the fried chicken . Again , Vegas ain't got nothing on your fried chicken ! I bragged about it when I got back to work and seeing my friends and of course posted pictures on Facebook and Instagram . I went to 5 places for Pulled Pork that 2 weeks in NC and SC and yours was my favorite just a little bit above Rodney Scott's BBQ in Hemmingway .

So , before I got on the plane I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Coleslaw on it , Hush Puppies , and Sweet Tea . It was so good and the place was clean and the employees were nice . I went to another Smithfield's in Charlotte , NC on October 5th and they were not as good and I was a little disappointed , but not here . It...

Had lunch today and had the Chicken and BBQ combo it was incredible.

There was an employee that was exceptional and I would like to recognize him. His name is Chris. I had a late lunch and there was not many customers. But Chis lived up to true "Exceptional Customer Service". He visited every customer in the restaurant and asked if they needed a refill or anything. Not just once but several times. When he wasn't doing this he was wiping down the tables and cleaning the floors.

I also noticed he made a point to make eye contact and welcome each customer that came through the door. Then an elderly gentleman came in and ordered food for takeout. I noticed while the Customer was waiting for his food. He was reviewing his receipt. When Chis walked over to the gentlemen (did not call the gentlemen to the counter). The gentlemen made a comment that he was so impressed that Chris gave him a Military discount. Chis made the comment he noticed the gentleman's hat and represented a Veteran and thanked him for his service.

Chis, thank you again for your incredible Customer Service Experience! You are a prime example of times lost. Smithfield Chicken and BBQ is very lucky to have such a great employee!

7 years ago my family and I found this place, it was the best for the next 5-6 years, them management decided to move Mr. Wes to Greensboro, that was the worse decision ever, the place is going down by the waste side. Today we bought some food, ordered a sweet tea and a free coffee as we always did, today they said, we are done doing coffee for the day and declined to offer it, when Mr. Wes was here, he would walk to the tables and chat with every customer and ask if we needed anything further, nowadays, that is no longer, service is only at the register, pay and move on 😭 sad that this beautiful place changed for the bad. Attached see my review from when we moved to N.C it was 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all around, today only the food was good but it tasted bad out of pain for the lackluster service. Bring Wes back, he can restore, bring love and care for the customers.
