Oh My Dog! This food is phenomenal! I went in for a simple slice of cheese pizza and was already Hooked! My friend brought me in for the Cheese steak subs and I tell you, I haven't had a REAL CHEESESTEAK SINCE I MY HOMETOWN OF MIAMI FLORIDA! They put the sub together and then toasted it in the Pizza Oven. Then they Added lettuce, tomato and mayo. I mean.... Mouth Watering! Next we tried the sausage, peppers and onions. Oh Man, I'm not stopping until I taste Everything in the menu. It's Old School. Italian seasoning, hour pepper stuff, garlic and Park on the tables to add if you like, (which I Love). I’ve been to many little local pizza places in my time in North Carolina, but honestly, nothing will ever beat Vicino’s. It’s amazing that I can say that after only going there once, but the point remains true. The pizza was great. I had two slices of pizza topped with pepperoni and onion: the onion was deceptively sweet and it was amazing. The crust was crispy, a rarity for these types of pizza places. I also had ranch with it and it was just amazing. But nothing, and I mean nothing, beats the customer service. They were so kind and accommodating, and it felt familial. When I needed ranch, they got it for me. When I needed takeout containers, they got it for me. The best example of their amazing service was when I was packing up my stuff to go, and, unprompted, the owner asked if I needed a top for my ranch cup. I was blown away. Opportunity stop as my family and I were in the area. This was a takeaway order because of the COVID-19 crap going on. We parked and walked in to order. Our order was super quick and we were in and out in a blink. Interior has ample seating for when this virus crap subsides.
Can't speak for what my family ordered but I split a 14 inch pepperoni with the kiddo. This is NY style. Foldable. Excellent crust. Sweeter sauce and zingy pepperoni. Good version for my taste (not my favorite but excellent) and this will hit someone right.
Vicino's runs daily specials and these looked like great values. Prices were comparable to like places in general and worth a stop. The service and quickness is the fifth star for me. Much appreciated as there were several folks waiting outside for their food.
