I stopped by One World Café after the Moscow farmers market to enjoy a chai latte tea. I needed to just chill and watch the rain come in, and this is one of the best places to do it. The building sits on a corner, so you get two full windows of moderately active streets. I’ve written many chapters in my thriller fiction books here. It just has the perfect ambience for that activity.
The chai latte was good and served in a recyclable cup with the usual Solo lid to keep my drink warm. They have a nice bakery display case with muffins, croissants, cookies, and cinnamon buns.
The music selection is definitely eclectic. Not Top 40 at all. It adds to the ambience without being too distracting. It makes it so you can’t easily hear other people’s conversations without being obtrusive.
There is a stage where bands can play. It’s a neat stylized wave shape. I don’t know how that actually works for bands in case you fall off the stage, but it is unique. It’s not just a block. It gives the interior a more natural and organic feel.
The two baristas behind the counter were super nice and took my order immediately and courteously. It wasn’t but a minute or two before I had my drink and was ready to sit down.
I chose this nice wooden plank bar by the window so I could watch the world go by as I work on my next thriller book. I enjoy getting out of the house to do some of my best writing because I can get out of my head. Places like One World Café are perfect for that.
There is also a mezzanine upstairs where there are at least four tables by the railing to have a bird’s-eye view of the landscape. The old-school attic brace ceiling is pretty fascinating to look at.
There’s also a mannequin torso hanging over the light fixture above the music stage. Definitely a neat little detail. They have live plants in many locations in the building to give the place a more organic and natural feel. I really enjoy that so it doesn’t have the sterile feeling of...
Read moreI've ordered there a couple times trying to get a veggie burrito.. Two times out of 3 they were out of it even though it was an orderable option on doordash. The second time i received no text or notification that the food was out and was just told to order something else when i got there. I've worked takeout before, its really not that hard to update your system when you're out of something. I tried to call in to talk to a manager but they said they were all busy. The first time they didn't have the burrito they said they were out of tortilla wraps. Really.. Out of tortilla wraps?? If you're gonna lie to my face at least make it somewhat believable. Its a cool spot with good food (the first time their veggie burrito was really good that's why i tried to keep ordering it) but they are incompetent. Maybe they need a dedicated takeout person i don't know. Or maybe they can just serve veggie burritos all day? How hard is it to make a egg potato burrito? How are they always running out of the most simple possible ingredients? I don't know. Seems like they don't care. Their pretzels are pretty good though so ill give...
Read more{mask required/temp. made available at doorway if needing one.} A great little coffee shop to go to that is local vs corporation such as Starbucks. Plenty accessibility if disabled to go in and have coffee or snacks. I didn't notice any booster seats or highchairs but might be some out of site if asked for one. Plenty of casual seating otherwise. Small cafe tables and chairs as well as some plush seating. Fairly quiet but had a small stage that they maybe host events sometimes. Would be a great spot to work or study. I believe they had wifi but not positive. Minimal street parking downtown so it is best to plan on a little extra time if driving to get parked and walk to the cafe if it is a busier time of day. They close currently at seven P. M. If you require certain allergen info call ahead for verification. They had gluten free options. No coconut milk substitution available Coffee, tea, coco, bottled juice/water, Italian sodas etc. And some baked goods that were fresh. We had a muffin...
