I'll go ahead and cut to the chase about the pros and cons of this place starting with the food,
This place has a awesome variety compared to most buffets offered in the surrounding area. They offer a extensive option on all-you-can-eat seafood including actual crab, mussels, clams, any form of cooked shrimp and crawfish.
Everything had an individual taste and didn't taste as if it was all cooked in the same pot (unlike some restaurants) HOWEVER, I will say that some of the selection (not all) had a bland taste which I mean it can be good for people who don't intake or cannot handle a lot of spice and seasonings. Also some of the other things like the lo mein for example, kind of tasted way too sweet tasting to be a traditional "Lo Mein". However that's my personal opinion, to each their own. Everyone has a different style of cooking or preference on taste.
They offer a hibachi counter and a sushi counter, with some gorgeous options on the sushi end, and they have a good selection of fresh fruit and salad/ salad makings.
The bathroom design is out of this world as well, extremely clean restaurant, they've done a wonderful job updating it to a more roomy experience, so much more spacious and updated, than it was when it was owned by J Harvey's. It no longer looks like a nursing home!
The waitress that served us was attentive and we never had empty plates on the table for longer than maybe two or three minutes. Our drinks never got down past half way either. (Note: I cannot speak for any other server only ours)
So although I give this four stars, I mean nothing bad by that. I wish maybe some of the food had better and more flavoring.
Total cost was over $65 for 4 people at "dinner". Sadly we arrived at 2:48 which was considered dinner hours. So if you want that lunch discount make sure to get their earlier than us! Had we been aware of the birthday discount prior to leaving this review it would've helped tremendously but oh well! Our fault, not the...
Read moreToday was opening day. The staff was very organized in the payment/seating department. The line moved quickly and efficiently. At the table, the servers were excellent with beverages and plate removal. The total was $14.99 for lunch buffet, drink, and taxes. I know it is +$2 for takeout. The buffet had numerous sections. "American cuisine" : personal pizzas cut in 4ths, polish sausage, baked white fish, loaded potato skins, imitation crab stuffed shells, ribs, and chicken wings. The Asian cuisine: spicy shrimp- spicy and cooked perfectly, mussels/ crawfish/ head-on shrimp- personally didnt try the shrimp and mussels but the crawfish were cooked and opened easily, jalapeno chicken- very spicy, sauteed clams, sauteed string beans- cooked with a crunch, teriyaki chicken- not overly sauced and not overly sweet, orange chicken, potatoes, broccoli and chicken- broccoli had soft tops and crunchy stems, peppered chicken and peppered steak- flavorful, lo mein- not greasy, fried rice- needs more flavor and very dry, egg rolls- perfect, pork dumplings/pot stickers- wonderful, crab ragoons- amazing, fried donuts... I am sure there was more, but basing it off memory. They also had a salad/fruit bar and small desserts. To the left of the buffet, was the hibachi station. It was very busy so I didn't order, but here's the process: choose your proteins/vegetables (both raw) then hand the plate to the grill. They will cook it fresh while you wait. To the left of the hibachi station, is the sushi station. Not sure if you could ask for anything special, but today they had 3 types of nigiri sushi, a seaweed bundle, and 8 different rolls. Many of the rolls were imitation crab, but one has salmon and a few has shrimp. Overall it was an excellent experience. Would like to know when they would have crab legs or any other different foods. Seemed like a smooth lunch, very clean, and the staff handled the busy...
Read moreWe were so excited to try this restaurant and were so disappointed that we did! Went for dinner tonight, what a waste of money. First of all, the buffet is neither southern style or Asian. There is way more “American” style food than any thing else, think Mac and cheese and pizza. Sure they had teriyaki chicken and fried rice, but EVERYTHING was tasteless. The crab Rangoon was nothing more than cream cheese in a deep fried shell. The crab legs were so small they looked like they came from hermit crabs? and when we asked for shell crackers, they looked at us like we had 3 heads. Where we were sat we could see into the kitchen, and noticed the waitresses were dipping into a bucket to fill glasses. Turns out it was the sweet tea!!! The hibachi is no better as the meat, chicken, beef or pork, we tried them all as our whole family went, is very rubbery, because the cook does not understand rare or medium. If you want Asian food, save money and skip this place. Go to Publix or Walmart and get yourself some Chung King in a can, or frozen PF Changs. At least it will have taste and be hot! On the plus side, the place is clean and the service is okay, but this doesn’t compensate for the terrible food. Will...
