We ordered from the Mount Airy Chipotle on Friday evening, July 20, 2018. It was the first experience with the restaurant in any location for my husband and me. Our daughter was up from Clinton, MD to visit our grandson, who is staying with us on his yearly visit from Florida. They both recommended it. Both of them like the food, my grandson mostly because he can order food he likes that is in keeping with his dietary decision to eat meat-free. My daughter just likes the food.
So, we took the plunge. I ordered a burrito bowl, double chicken, with a side of guacamole. My husband ordered a burrito bowl, single chicken with guacamole added as one of the ingredients of the bowl and not a side. My grandson ordered a vegetarian burrito, and my daughter ordered one of the salads.
We ordered over the internet; my daughter used the Chipotle application on her phone. My husband, grandson and daughter left our home five minutes after the order was placed because the app reported our order would be ready in fifteen minutes. The trio returned in twenty minutes with a bag full of our order.
Everything was just as we had ordered it, with one exception. My husband's burrito bowl was missing its guacamole. My daughter checked the receipt to see if we had been charged for it, and, in addition to my side of guacamole, we were also charged for guacamole being added to his burrito bowl. The missing guacamole on my husband's bowl is why I rated them four, instead of five, stars.
I can talk with knowledge only about my burrito bowl. My grandson devoured his vegetarian burrito, really enjoying it! Both my daughter and husband ate only half of their meals, saving the rest for a second meal. And that's the first thing I wanted to say about my burrito bowl. The serving size was huge! Once I added the side of guacamole I ordered (and received), there was just so much food in the bowl! Now, I have to say that my daughter encouraged me to add rice and beans to the my order. My burrito bowl ended up including: chicken, red onions/green peppers, brown rice, pinto beans, sour cream, cheese and that side of guacamole. My husband added some crunchy, iceberg lettuce to his bowl and mine. This added up to a lot of food! Not that I'm complaining; I will probably get three meals out of this one burrito bowl. Why three meals, you ask, when my husband and daughter will get just two? My stomach was very upset last night and is still tentative. I had about ten bites - it was really good! - but my stomach began feeling full, maybe a little too full, so I stopped and saved the rest for when I feel better. Ten bites barely made a dent in the amount of food in the bowl.
Four stars. A picture of his bowl documenting the missing guacamole, was sent to the Mount Airy Chipotle approximately fifteen minutes after the food was picked up. As my daughter paid for the meal, she reports getting a two-for-one coupon as a response to the forgetfulness of the Chipotle staff. She said it was a great way to get repeat business, but, in my opinion, it might be cheaper to reimburse the $2.15 rather than offer a...
Read moreI am not the type to leave reviews, call a store to complain, or ask for my money back. However, there is always a first. I want to preface this review with, I have always liked the Mount Airy Chipotle, until today. I called in an order and waited for a half-hour past the pick-up time to finally get my order. When I got home, the order was completely wrong; no big deal should’ve checked before I left. The chips were stale, kind of a letdown, but it’s ok. I ordered large White queso and received a small, starting to get upset. I open up my food and the portion I was given would’ve left my eight year daughter hungry( getting annoyed). Start to eat and now I am angry. I was given a half of an avocado, literally, instead of guacamole, I got a half of avocado in my food. Which also explains why the portion was so small. I called and spoke with a manager and was told I had to go back to the store to get a refund. So I am supposed to get back in my car, drive 10 minutes to the store to wait for a manager, explain the entire story again, and then possibly get a refund for Chipotle at another time. Sorry, not happening! I will NEVER go back to the Mount Airy Chipotle and will go out of my way to let everyone know not to give the Mount Airy Chipotle their hard-earned money. Would give it zero...
Read moreI had a horrible experience today. This Chipotle was amazing, and used to be my favorite place to go, but today changed my whole mindset.
I made an order online for 6:40, and received my food at 7:02.
The “issue” they were having was that my name wasn’t on the order because I ordered as a guest. When you order as a guest, you are able to order with your name without needing an account.
The lady that completely ruined my experience said that my name wasnt on the order and said “can you read the receipt and tell me if your name is on the receipt?”
News flash, it was and she looked like a complete IDIOT when I proved her wrong (image of receipt below). My name is Ishaan Joshi for reference.
She then proceeded to SLAM the receipt into my bag and hit me with a condescending “have a nice day sir” and proceeded to storm off into the back.
Like I said, this place was amazing before this experience. There was even a guy working here before and would make hilarious and funny jokes to keep the customer engaged.
It sucks to see, and I hope this was just a one-off thing.
EDIT: After opening the food, they forgot a lot of stuff. One bowl had no cheese and they forgot the vinegarette for the salad. Also the food is super cold because they were 20 minutes late...
