Didn't know the mayor and her cronies were coming in there to take the restaurant over and stand around like vultures waiting on a tables. place is pretty small. Came with my wife and granddaughter to enjoy our breakfast. There was already about 12 patrons in there next thing I know they come through the door like gangbusters just staying .And here comes the Mount Clemens Mayor with her photo-ops. If she was going to bring her cronies to such a small restaurant she should have rented the whole restaurant Like a Rockstar and believe me I would have went to the hometown grill or John's.but I felt that I had to hurry up & eat couldn't enjoy my breakfast and let it sit and digest I I didn't even put my coat on just picked it up and ran out the door. With that kind of hospitality I won't be back. Thank you Mount Clements rmayor. My wife order to pop didn't even get it. I think they were too worried about the mayor in her cronies in the photo oops and then common citizens that frequent these restaurants on our weekends. Let me give you some advicemaybe you should have had your breakfast party at your home. Where you have plenty of space or maybe went to a bigger restaurant you your brain next time mayor. It's not all about you you you. Next time get there with your entourage when they first open I'll call ahead and tell them to lock the door because there will not be no...
Read moreDecided to try somewhere I haven’t been before for Sunday Brunch, and the group and I decided on Mae’s. This is a place where you order at the front, and then the food gets brought out to your table once ready. We told the lady at the front counter that it was our first time so she provided us paper menus to sit down and go over so we weren’t pressured to make a decision right away. The atmosphere is super cute and in the heart of downtown Mount Clemens. My friend and I decided on the Avocado Breakfast Sandwich but with sunny side up eggs instead of the friend eggs. My other friend kept it simple with the Mae’s Breakfast with over easy eggs and turkey sausage. Our Breakfast Sandwiches were absolutely huge and the yolk from the sunny side up egg really brought the sandwich together surprisingly without it being as messy as I anticipated. All of our meals came with Red Skin Potatoes which were cooked to absolute perfection making sure each piece was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. The Turkey Sausage was really good as well. The Fried Cauliflower was a hit for the table, however some pieces were a bit too batter heavy for my liking. Overall it was a great experience, and it’s always fun supporting a local small business when given the...
Read moreI've only tried the pancakes, breakfast burrito & cinnamon roll. The pancakes are big & the burrito is a good size also. I tried the atomic coffee a couple times & it's VERY strong. Caffeine never hits me the way that coffee did & it definitely got me ready for the day. UPDATE: I still love this place. This is my 2nd time getting the Tex-Mex Breakfast Bowl & it's delicious. I'm not a fan of tomatoes but the pico de gallo works on this & the tomatoes don't overpower anything for me. The Chorizo makes it a bit spicy but just a nice lil kick. & the tortilla chips are really good too. Not sure if they're homemade but they taste like it & have the perfect amount of salt. I also didn't realize I was a fan of chorizo until I kept eating here lol. The cinnamon roll bites are amazing! Slightly crispy on the outside then so soft when you bite into it. At 1st you think, just 2 pieces? But that's all you need & they have a good amount of icing. Definitely try them! Although I only ever get carry-out, they're always nice/friendly when I've called...
