El Comal - Mt Juliet — Restaurant in Mount Juliet

Power is out after the storm and drove across town for something open. We went to Publix then decided we would order food here instead. We were told 15 minutes, after 20 I went inside. It was busy no worries. I finally get to the cashier and pay and tip in advance. Then the guy at the front who didn’t seem to have any bit of urgency at any point in time goes to the back, comes back and says it’s going to be another ten minutes. Now I’ve been here for 35 minutes...he asks if I would like to go ahead and get the margaritas, we’ll I didn’t want to be rude and drink without my ride who’s sitting in the car outside. I said I’d take a free one since I had to wait so long, well I was ignored. Then I asked if there was anything he could do since it’s going on an hour almost and he ignored me some more. The food came out and sat there and the young lady was nice but said the other guy would have to make the drinks, the one with no customer service skills or urgency. When he finally comes out with them I asked about straws to which he replied that he couldn’t give me any bc I might drink and drive, so I said what about when I get home? He walked away! I never give all of the stars, but El Comal have well deserved it. Don't get fooled by the look of a small place, once you go thru the door you realize it's bigger than you thought.

We went there in a Friday night for some margaritas, it was packed but it really didn't matter we where greeted and seated nice and promptly, the chips and salsa arrived immediately, warm thin and crispy in a very generous portion, the margaritas on the rocks where excellent, a little advise; Stir it, Everytime you serve the Tequila goes normally to the bottom, it was great!

Then the food arrived, hands down the best rice and beans that I ever eat in years, fresh and fluffy, and that was only the side dish, portions are really generous so, come hungry I ordered a combination of meats, chorizo, beef and chicken, all of it seasoned to perfection, Man! You can tell we had a great time! I want to sed a shout out to Eliot, he made sure everything was taking care of, always with a smile very approachable and friendly.

I'm not a happy camper with how I was treated yesterday. I use to come here on a weekly basis until yesturday.

So I met some friends at the restaurant for lunch and we were waiting on another friend. As we did so I was talking to a friend and I had no idea everyone had already ordered. I told the waiter to give me a minute and so he just stood there. As I was looking at the menu I had accidentally spilled my cup of water, water went all over myself and the waiter. The waiter then just bolted in such a range due to my accident and came back with a to go cup with a lid on it. Now I can understand that he could have been trying to help me but the way he put it in front of me made me embarrassed.He treated me like a child. That's not all, he never came back with towels or anything to clean up the mess and after 15 minutes I decided to go grab a bunch of napkins and clean up the floor (not to mention that I have a bad back).
