My wife and I decided to try Slim Chickens for the first time last night at 10:15 PM CST. My wife ordered the 5 and 5 meal, while I decided on the Chicken and Waffle meal. The young lady who was assisting us told me, in regards to my Chicken and Waffle meal, that they would have to make the waffle batter and it would be 10 - 15 mins before my meal would be ready. I told the young lady that I was willing to wait and clearly her demeanor changed after I informed her of my decision.
I paid the total of $26.43 for our food and the young lady instructed us to pull forward and she would bring us our food once it was prepared. We waited the 15 minutes for our food and our meals never came. I pulled back to the drive-thru window, honked our horn, and no one ever came to the window to provide any type of update on the status of our meals.
After waiting another 5 - 10 minutes, I finally parked my vehicle and walked inside the restaurant and waited a few more minutes for someone to assist me, after I had to yell "Hello" a few times to get someone to acknowledge that I was inside. While I was inside around 10:40 PM CST, it appeared that the restaurant had been closed and no signs of any food had been cooked.
When a different young lady finally came to the register, I informed her that I paid for 2 meals and had been waiting for nearly 30 minutes for our meal that we never received and I wanted my money back. The young lady did provide me with a full refund and I had requested a refund receipt but did not receive one. I wanted to provide proof of the unexcusable, excessive amount of time that my wife and I had to wait for our meals, especially when there were no other customers there during that time. The young lady wrote here initials as well as the date and time she wrote her initials (10:44 PM CST) as the time I received my cash refund for my meals.
Needless to say, it wasn't the best way to have a 1st impression and I won't ever find myself doing business with that...
Read moreIâve been coming to this slim chickens since it opened, and I normally have fine experiences. Today, though, I had one of the worst fast food experiences in my life. I tried to go through the drive thru, but was informed at the menu that the drive thru was âdownâ (what exactly that means Iâm not sure, since I was being spoken to through the menu speaker) but I took her word for it and asked if I needed to go inside to order. She said either go inside or use the curbside function on the app. I parked and ordered curbside. The app said it would take 13 minutes, so after 20 minutes when the food still wasnât there, I tried to call in to the restaurant. No one picked up the call, so after waiting another 5 minutes for my order, I go inside (in the rain which is why I hadnât gotten out of my car sooner). Inside, the worker who I ask about my food walks over to the Togo area and finds my food. The food is incorrect, cold, and missing all three drinks I ordered to go with it. I walked up to the counter, told them the situation, and was told that they could get the drinks for me. I also noticed that there were cars going through the drive thru at this point, so I asked a different worker if the drive thru was back up and she said it had never been down (???). Now, pretty irritated, I see a manager and tell him what had happened. He offers no apology or consolation, so I leave the restaurant. Once I am home, I realize that the drinks I was given were wrong as well. I understand that these kids are getting paid minimum wage and donât care about their jobs, but slim chickens should not be offering curbside pickup if the food canât be brought to the car (not to mention not answering the phones) And the least a manager could do is apologize when a customer brings forward these issues. I am beyond frustrated with this experience and will not be returning...
Read moreIâve been here twice. The first time my girlfriend and I were going to dine in, but we were told by some young employee that they were full. He came across as kinda rude, but we shrugged it off and decided to go drive thru.
Second time I went, I went straight to drive thru. Lady was patient at first, then got impatient when I asked if the price of individual tenders was the same as the meals. She recovered when she realized I was asking a legitimate question, but of course it stuck with me.
When I pulled up to the window, the girl at the window was very short with me. So when I drove away, I felt like the two experiences said a lot about their customer service.
Itâs sad because honestly the chicken is good. Not great, but itâs good. You donât need a dipping sauce to enjoy it, and that says something. The fries are a different story; basically dipping sticks for your sauce cause theyâre pretty nasty without them. The toast is ok, their deserts meh.
Based on the food alone I would give them a 3. But customer service says a lot, and perception is everything. Unfortunately mine told me that we (the customers) are a nuisance and not worthy of being talked to in a patient, kind, professional manner.
So for that reason Slimâs gets a 3 but this branch gets a two. Zaxbyâs is 10...
