In hesitation of making this review after almost a month of visiting this location, I feel it is necessary. I currently live in an area of Tennessee that doesnât have Kroger locations, I love the Kroger brand and intentionally chose this store last month, June 16th to do my shopping for food items during a camping stay nearby. My only issue came at self checkout. As I ended the scanning of my items, a notice appeared on the screen that an attendant was on the way. I hadnât requested help on the screen but that was fine. However, I couldnât check out until that screen was cleared. The attendant walked up, and asked if I needed help, I began with âno, but..â and was going to say that the screen needed to be cleared so that I could pay but the attendant abruptly walked away. I turned and began to ask that she clear the screen which I didnât have the option to do myself. As I turned to ask her if she could clear the notice, she said âNo, you said that you didnât need help so Iâm giving you your space!â. Rude, I had been nothing but kind. In a calm manner I reply, âhow does it make it make you feel to speak that way, I didnât have the chance to explain what was going on when you first approachedâ. She huffs and walks toward my checkout, stops and asks me to step back. I was already 3â away from my checkout, plenty of room with space to spare for her to touch the screen. I didnât understand and asked how far she needed for me to back up. Her, âBack up maâam!â, me âno problemâ. I approach as sheâs helping clear the screen and in an attempt to diffuse her angst I begin to try to thank her. She swings around and says âdonât touch me!â. What in the world?! Iâm in my 60âs, what did she think I was going to do? Iâve NEVER had such an encounter in my life. I cannot fathom what her problem was but honestly, it doesnât matter, this isnât how you treat people,...
Read moreDiscrimination at its finest at this location. My husband had a $35 money order from a krogers in Hermitage,Tn. He went in to cash it at the Mt.Juliet krogers and was told by Bubba that the money order could not be cashed at that location and we would have to travel back to the Hermitage location to cash it. Knowing this to be untrue, as my husband is often paid by money orders from Krogers and have them cashed at any Kroger location. We called the hermitage location to verify what we already knew and was told it could be cashed at any Krogers. We went back inside at Mt.Juliet Krogers and asked for Bubba supervisor in which we got Mona. Mona went on to state that it could not be cashed at that location so we called Brittany back at the Hermitage location and put Mona on the phone with her, only then did Mona agree to cash the money order. My husband and I are African American, while Mona is of Hispanic descent and bubba caucasian. When Mona spoke to Brittany who is Caucasian the money order was cashed. This alone is grounds for a discrimination lawsuit. Just because we are African American they judged us and made a decision not to cash it. Mona even went on to insinuate that there are a lot of stolen money orders as if sheâs saying thatâs what we have. Even with my husband name on the money order, they took his ID and still crossed through his name to make it payable to Kroger so why wasnât that just done in the first place !?! Krogers need to watch who they hire and advise them of their policies and the discrimination law because if we had time to be extreme we would lawyer up and make a big deal out of the location...
Read moreI went in today and bought a couple of stocks of rhubarb. The majority of the pile were completely molded and bad on the ends. When I went to use the self checkouts, I couldnât it in the list. I pushed the button to get help and the kid walked by me probably three times, seeing the light on but failing to come over to help or ask what is wrong while I was trying to scan my groceries. Then he proceeded to walk over to the podium, pull his phone out, and just start scrolling through his phone. I had to get his attention to come help me And there were no other customers around. I told him I was trying to get the rhubarb to register but itâs not in the system to look it up. He then asks me if it has a barcode. Itâs rhubarb no. Then he asks me where it is. Iâm like itâs over in the middle of the produce section youâll see the long pink stocks and itâs 5.99 per lb. He then scans it in and types 5.99 and leaves it at that. I didnât have a full pound of rhubarb and it wasnât even weighed. Kroger clearly likes to hire people who canât listen and would rather spend more time scrolling through their phones then helping and listening to...
