Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Mount Laurel Township

I had a shocking and very disrespectful experience at this Tropical Smoothie Cafe location. When I placed my order, the cashier asked for my name and I clearly said “Debbie.” Later, instead of calling my name, the staff just called out my smoothie flavor. When I left, I looked at the receipt and was stunned to see that, instead of my actual name, the cashier had typed “DEVIL.”

I have 70% of my body tattooed and half of my head shaved, clearly am 🏳️‍🌈. I don’t know if that played a role in this situation or not, but either way, there is absolutely no excuse for labeling a customer with such an offensive word.

This was not only unprofessional but also deeply humiliating, and it left me feeling singled out. Regardless of appearance, every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect. If she misunderstood my name the least she could do is ask me to repeat it or just label it a letter. But there is literally no human being named “Devil.” Upon calling management and explaining the situation they would say “oh wait I can’t hear you” and hang up multiple until I threatened to call corporate to which I received a call from an unknown number saying he is the manager and would like to speak to me. I was going to head to the dollar tree for snacks and then my better self told me to go here instead. Thank goodness I listened! I purchased the most delicious smoothie! As I was waiting out of the corner of my eye I noticed a tall man standing there with pride holding a large cup. I said is that for Kirah? He said yes and I took one look at the cup and declared "This looks amazing"! He nodded and off I was to enjoy my protein packed cup of veggie fruity bliss. Bliss it was, and after 2 sips I felt life coursing through my veins with each chilled sip. I even smiled and chatted with a stranger because this happiness needed to be dispersed. Their smoothies are amazing especially my personal favorite acai berry boost. I do love the new flavor but you can only order it online or on the app. The cranberry Mai Tai. The kale apple side little salad is delicious personally they need to add that into a meal itself and sell it under the salad's menu. I love their new PB protien bowl it is very fulfilling. Their turkey lite ranch sandwich is pretty good even their breakfast. So far their really isn't anything I have not liked on their menu but for their peanut butter Flatbread they need to add in more peanut butter and bananas it's more granola then their is peanut butter and bananas hence the name of the Flatbread sandwich lol, other than that...
