This place has the lowest, most vulgar owner imaginable. I went with high hopes, based upon all the other reviewers. My husband and I were seated immediately, but waited ten minutes to get water, and then had to remind the staff that we were waiting to order. The waiter which came to take our order had an attitude problem, so things were really not starting out well here. We made it through the soup course -- one good and one so-so. Our appetizers came out of the kitchen -- lukewarm to cold. The "crab puffs" were slightly less than room temperature and filled with cream cheese, no crab inside. I noticed my husband's honey glazed ribs were pink -- not the red food dye that appears on the outside and turns to black, but inside right next to the bone. They were also cold. We called the waiter over, told him the crab puffs were cold; we were not loud or angry or the least bit rude. He did not have sufficient command of English to make himself understood but started arguing about the cream cheese portion of the dish. Then we told him the ribs were pink --REMEMBER FOLKS, THIS IS PORK WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. He brought the owner over to our table. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? This IGNORANT pregnant woman starts yelling at us and arguing as if she was at trial. She said "I'm pregnant, and I'd eat these", picks up a rib off of OUR PLATE WITH HER HANDS, and then puts it back down. She was relentless and continued to argue, as opposed to just offering us another dish. Then she picks the rib back up off the plate and takes a bite of it and chews it like an ape with her mouth open. Well, we were both speechless and could not believe it. THIS WAS THE SORT OF THING YOU MIGHT EXPECT TO SEE ON SEINFELD OR ON A SITCOM. But no, it was taking place right in front of my eyes, this supposedly sophisticated owner of a 4-star restaurant just used her dirty fingers to eat the food off my plate!!!! Well, eventually she agreed to take the ribs off the bill, we finished our dinner w/the main courses and left. I have NEVER dreamed of an owner doing this. This place is NOT what...
Read moreI took my family here based on the recommendation of a co-worker and could not be happier at our choice. We will definitely be visiting again. This is my first ever review of a review of a restaurant so please bear with me.
We drove up in our Jeep, wearing flannels and sweatshirts, and were at first a little intimidated by the clientele at the time. We sucked it up and entered into the lobby where we were immediately greeted by the hostess and owners who made us feel immediately like we were home and seated us. The sounds around us were very silly of sorts, aka "you HAVE to try this" and "Oh My God this is awesome".
Asian/Chinese food critics we are not, but THIS was motivating!
We settled on the Jersey Devil Sushi and Avocado Salad as appetizers; each in their own right was worthy of a review but I digress, delicious.
Our main meal was Grandfather's Chicken (their version of Gen Tso's with a pick your level of heat) and Rice. Both came out fantastically prepared, delicious, and ready for the take home box because of the portion sizes.
My wife chose the Lobster and rice to which she could not speak highly enough. She chose the Ginger and Scallion sauce which she could not stop complimenting.
We did opt for the dessert menu, and all of the entrees were delicious of course.
If I can impress on you anything, let it be that everyone seemed to leave happy and satisfied. Every customer had something to say in passing on how good your plate looked, or how good theirs was.
The word "Gourmet Chinese" even passed by our table once but I'd rather think of Tre's Yan &Wu as a fantastic Restaurant worthy of an honest...
Read moreThis isn't your ordinary, usual, run of the mill, Chinese food place. The description of this being an open restaurant, with a Pan-Asian style, that's BYOB is spot on. So along with basic Chinese dishes, you can get Sushi and variations of Pad-Thai. . I've visited before and the atmosphere immediately gives you the feel of business casual. The music is usually mellow and classical in nature. . The food is usually pretty decent and comes in very healthy sized portions. Basically, you're going to get a lot of food with your entree. This time around I was pleasantly surprised with my appetizer, pan seared scallops (see the picture). I wish they had better quality Oolong tea, in short I wish it wasn't bagged and rather loose leaves, but that's just me being picky. . It is a little costly to eat here but I stop in once in a while to enjoy a well cooked and prepared Asian meal. The staff is always VERY pleasant and attentive. Diana attended to me during this visit and...
