Let me preface this review by saying that the staff in store were wonderful. They acknowledged that they had made a mistake and were willing to do whatever they could to fix it. I have no issue with the kind, hard working in store staff and would give them 5 stars.
This 1 star review is strictly for the general manager/franchise owner named Gary. I was initially hopeful that Gary would be able to resolve the issue as it required someone with more authority than those working in the store to sign off on but Gary was immediately terse, defensive and rude. Most disturbingly he was misleading as during the five minutes or so that he was on the phone he consistently backtracked and changed his story on what he could or couldn't do to resolve the situation. Gary initially said the issue could only be resolved by the corporate office and when it was immediately, laughably and transparently obvious that wasn't the case he reversed course and said he could take care of it but it would be whenever he felt like getting around to it. Gary was obviously annoyed to be inconvenienced by an issue with a customer and it clearly came through over the phone.
I hope that Jimmy John's offers some sort of customer service training for their franchise owners/general managers because Gary is in desperate need of it. When the management at the top is as bad as it is at this location, and presumably any other locations that Gary is involved at, it's only a matter of time before everything below him starts to rot as well. It is too bad, because I was happy that a location had opened in Flushing but unfortunately Gary was so unprofessional and disingenuous in my interaction with him that I can't recommend going to this store.
Again, I would like to reiterate that my interaction with the staff in store was first rate and I appreciate their willingness to try and make things right, Gary could learn something from his staff in that regard. Finally, I was hesitant to write a review but my interaction with Gary was so poor that I felt it was necessary to let others know that if they encounter an issue at this store they will receive no assistance or resolution from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst service ever. I waited for about five minutes to be served before I went over to the Dunkinā Donuts counter, which is right next to the sandwich making encounter and I asked if anyone is working at the Jimmy John counter. The woman very reluctantly came over to the counter asked me what I wanted. I told her the number of the type sandwiches, which was the #7 & #11, I specified the ingredients that I wanted on each sandwich and she rang it up on the register, I paid $24 for the sandwiches and then she proceeded to walk around the other counter, went into the bathroom. Another older lady came over with another young girl. They looked more like they were all mother and daughters, which none of them seem to want to work. I shouldāve stayed there, but I knew it would be a long process so I told him I would be back in 10 minutes for the two sandwiches. The other girl asked me to pay and I told her I already paid the other girl so she then went and looked at my receipt. Very incompetent very unprofessional and none of them look like they wanted to work at all. I went back in and got my sandwiches came home opened them up and they were mix matched completely. They were nothing of what the number 7 sandwiches or the number 11 are supposed to be. Very disappointed as I had tried this place once before and I found the sandwich to be good, but even back then the service wasnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWishing people would have common sense. Not only did the delivery driver have to come to my apartment once but he had to come back 3 times⦠I wish he would have stayed long enough at my door to get his name but nope. He just knocked loud as possible and ran out the front door just to forget my drinks I ordered. Would not have been a big deal except for how he acted towards not only me but my boyfriend. We both had to tell him multiple times we did not receive everything we ordered. All we were told was oh well I canāt do anything about that call the store to get a refund. So I do that and they send driver again to come back with drinks, plural. Also did not receive refund. Then the next excuse well the drinks should be in your bag. Not only would the drinks not fit into the bag with 2 full size sandwiches and also 2 bags of chips, but there was no room. How would he have known that everything was in the bag unless he opened our stapled bag of food. I paid almost $40 for everything how ridiculous is it that I just wanted my drinks that...
