My Husband has been SO excited to try this place. We have tried to go 3 different times before today, and now we know why it never worked out, it wasn't meant too! Lol but we kept pushing and it lead us there earlier today and me to make this review tonight... I ordered a NY Strip MEDIUM WELL, it came out SO charred I couldn't eat it (I have a picture of it). The red skin mashed potatoes came out cold and the mac and cheese was just awful, it tasted gross. My husband ordered an ordinary burger that comes with a side, it wasn't anything special and didn't even come with condiments and it cost $15 😳 He prefers red robin as you get more bang for your buck. He also did not like the mac and cheese, and his potatoes were cold also. The kitchen accidentally sent us an extra side and said we wouldn't have to pay for it but low and behold it was on our bill. Then they don't forewarn you but they add in gratuity on the bill! ($10.63) I have never seen another establishment do this unless it's a large party of people. My Husband and I were the only ones who were there and ate earlier. The price point for basic and really not great food was appaling enough but then to add gratuity on top of it is just wrong. We were told "the system automatically adds gratuity" which is crazy. We should've been able to choose the tip, and thankfully my Husband paid attention to the bill because we were not told, when our copy was brought back to sign there was another spot to manually add a tip. We paid $73 and some change for 2 people to eat a steak and burger that we could've made better at home by getting the burger and steak from Sam's and having my Husband grilling it! This was just one of the worst experiences we've ever had at an eatery to date and we really did have high hopes for this place. We didn't bother telling management because by the end there was SO much wrong, it wasn't worth bringing every single thing up. Thankfully we had a wonderful server! She was very polite, attentive, engaging, and she had a wonderful attitude although we were upset about the gratuity charge before hand which wasn't her fault. So we are grateful for her and that! Let this picture below speak for itself, this is how a medium well NY Strip is...
Read moreDecided to support the restaurant after seeing and hearing mixed reviews and following their journey. By far its an inspiration to open in such a economically challenging environment as Flint, but with that comes the cost of offering the best food and service so the business remains vital. At least this should drive the success. The food and service must be top notched no matter in a pandemic or when everything normalizes.
I called specifically for the chicken wrap and was told it wasn’t available so I decided to support in some way and ordered the New York Strip and Shrimp Alfredo. The steak was tough/dry for medium well, which I order from other restaurants that are moist and tender. The pasta had no flavor and the smallest shrimp on the market, which for the price should offer at least medium like their competitors and definitely flavor.
Finally, I always support based on advertising and marketing. If the menu says it’s offered, then saying it isn’t available is just not acceptable, esp a simple chicken wrap.
Lastly if the food (in terms of taste, amount, availability) isn’t consistent with the pictures of the food used for marketing. It’ll only work for first time customers but almost never guarantee repeat customers. Wishing nothing but the best however, I’m sure there will be continual...
Read moreMy husband and I have wanted to try this restaurant since it opened. We made it there today for my birthday but were disappointed. Let's start with the good. Our waiter was fantastic! He was very attentive, professional and had a great attitude. My son had the Alfredo and loved it. The banana pudding cheesecake is different and was pretty good. Now the not so great things. My husband ordered the catfish and broccoli. The catfish were very small pieces, almost bite-size and the broccoli was undercooked. He left still hungry. My daughter added a lobster tail to her dinner which was shriveled and very dry (thank goodness for melted butter!). I had the steak, red skin mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Although I like my steak well done, it was very tough and dry. It was difficult to eat. The mac n cheese was bland and dry as well. Something to know and pay attention to (as I don't recall seeing it posted) is that they automatically add 15% gratuity to your bill for a party of more than 3 people. We expected better quality with what is supposed to be a more upscale dining experience (and prices to reflect). I write this review in hopes that it will be considered and changes made so this new establishment can...
