*** READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW AS THE END IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! This way you can see how you will be treated in this poor excuse for a watering hole, even for a dive like this one! ** Service Animal ALERT!! ** This unimpressive Local chain supports the practice of discrimination and the ridiculing of their patrons with disabilities! Me and a friend had a long day and decided to go to The D&G on Long point for a quick bite. I brought a small mat for my service animal to lay on as I would not let even my dog lay on the sticky, dirty, unwashed floors in this place. He is so well trained he ate raw meat from the same bowl with a wild cat. He calmly took his place and laid himself and his head down peacefully. Our Server "Kaitlyn", (AKA Veruca) came over after a few moments and immediately yelled at me to "get me and my dog out of there." the place was pretty crowded and she started out by causing a scene without ANY provocation. Many patrons were immediately stunned by her outburst. I calmly asked her to please not cause a scene, which was too late at that point. I politely informed her that my dog was a fully certified NSAR Service and Guide rated companion. She said “I don’t care; you need to go eat outside”. I again asked her to stop screaming and reminder her it was 40 degrees out and that it was illegal to make me sit outside in the cold just because I had a CERTIFIED Service Dog. She decided to yell even louder that “Bringing him in here was a DHEC violation”. I said you don’t seem to understand the law, can you please get a manager? Ms. Becerra then in her nasty, boisterous manner yelled “I AM THE MANGER!” I replied then please call your GM. She said “The only thing I’m going to call is the cops if you don’t get out of here!” I said, Are you kidding? She yelled “WATCH ME! As she stormed out onto the patio, phone in hand. Moments later 2 squad cars, lights blaring followed moments later by a third showed up. Ms. Congeniality went outside and began yelling at the police to drag me out of there. Some moments later the police came and got the exact story you just read from the adjoining table that was also mortified at this “Managers” discrimination, rudeness, screaming and clear violation of the law. After pow-wowing outside again with Ms. Kaitlyn Becerra, the police came in and informed me that I was 100% correct and she could not remove me, my guest or my Service animal. So is that it? NOPE! The best is yet to come! After the police left did she come over and APOLOGIZE? NOPER! Instead she went around to numerous tables continuing to ridicule me with patrons by lying about how unbelievably wrong she was. The next day I went back there an low and behold! Not only the founder Rod Bradley was there but so was the GM Philip Consolo! I explained the events and asked for a formal apology for the actions of their employee and assurance that she would be properly trained and or fired. They ACTED like they were going to take some kind of action that day when their personally appointed, untrained and un-couth manager Kaitlyn “Verruca” Becerra was due to be in at 3:30 and they would call me right after they spoke to her. Well DAYS went by and I FINALLY got the GM Philip Consolo on the phone who told me Rod was handling the situation. Well he handled it by inviting her to a employee getaway! Yes, you heard right, the Founder and the GM both support the illegal, immoral and un-couth actions of their untrained, embarrassment of a manager Kaitlyn “Verruca” Becerra! **FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR STICKY FLOORS AND UNDERWHELMING BASKET FOOD! My FULLY CERTIFIED Service Companion! He is so gentle he will eat raw meat from the same bowl with a WILD CAT! THE OWNERS SUPPORT THEIR STAFF PRACTICING DICRIMINATION THAT WAS EVEN VERIFIED BY THE POLICE!

What a delightful (and totally packed!) restaurant. Food was great and our waiter was really friendly and helpful. There is a large bar that gets very crowded. Very few booths where you can sit away from others. There is outdoor seating, but it was raining when we went and it's not covered. Tacos were really good - though we would have preferred corn tortillas. The grouper ones were fantastic. Korean steak ones were quite good too. Nachos are big and tasty. The kids/not kids appetizer with corn dogs, quesadilla, sliders and chicken fingers was a kid's dream come true. Garden salad was fresh and nice. House margaritas were surprisingly good. The chocolate thunder cake was the only not really good food we ordered. It was basic and very sweet. Parking was easy. Loud at peak hours.

While visiting my parents, they took me to Dog and Duck…and then took me again the following week. My dad said it was his go-to place for a beer and a burger. This is the perfect place to go if you’re looking to hang out with some friends and have some good food, drinks, and a relaxed time. The first time we went I got the Philly cheesesteak and upgraded my side to the Nashville hot fries (pictured below). Both were so so good and I could have eaten at least two more servings of the hot fries. The second time we went I got the fried clam rolls and onion rings. The fried clams were good, just slightly overdone. Both times we got the fried pickles as an app and they might be the best fried pickles I’ve ever had! Definite recommend (especially if you have friends visiting town).

Im baffled by my experience here truly. I had an awful time while dining here. The server, Bethany, took our drinks and order and was incredibly friendly and nice initially when we sat down at the table. Eventually another server comes by and brings our appetizers. By referencing texts and such, we waited about 16 minutes after our appetizers came out to even see our server. She visited the table behind us and another table across from us, but never stopped by our table. We both ran out of our drinks and had finished our appetizers and were sitting and waiting to ask for a second round. Eventually time passes and someone else brings part of our food and we explain we’ve been waiting a while. He gives us the excuse that she’s busy but I can clearly see she’s had 3 tables and she sits at the bar staring out. We’ve made eye contact 3 times and she has yet to come visit our table. Im just baffled as to why she held eye contact with me for literally minutes, checks every table around us, and avoids us. I’m very annoyed with the experience but it’s whatever at this point. She brings my food and I ordered a turkey sandwich with cheese, bacon, and mayo. When it comes to me it is missing both the cheese and bacon. I point it out and she takes it back and it’s still missing the cheese. At this point I explain that nothing has come out as I expected it and I just want it taken off the bill because there’s still cheese missing and I’m overall annoyed with the experience. She then sat there and argued with me that she “talked to the kitchen” and that it has cheese on it, when you can clearly open it up and see there is no cheese. The way she talked to me was just really rude and unacceptable. She didn’t offer a solution or tried to make the experience better, she simply argued with me. I asked another server to see the manager (her name was Kathy) and I explained all the above and just got “okay” “mhm” “okay” . She disregarded my feelings on the entire experience and simply walked away. She said absolutely nothing else. I wouldn’t even be mad if she apologized but she didn’t even do that. The management seems to be an absolute joke here. I’ve always left a tip for a server, but today makes the first stiff I’ve given on a tip. Which is sad as I’ve been in the industry for years. I would’ve been willing to have a really nice lunch and drop a decent amount of money on the bill and tip had it been a nice experience, which is the most aggravating part. She passed by our table 3 times as I tried to hand her the bill. Overall Dissapointing and the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I will never return to this location and I’m not jumping at the chance to...
