Sat-- Jan 21st, 2023 Sometimes books are only as pretty as their cover. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. My friend and I saw many cute reviews so we decided to dress up and give it a try. While we were deciding what we wanted, we sat down at the bar and order a drink. The bartender asked for our IDs and that is when things took a turn. I, of age, had my ID printed 3 days ago. The bartender looks at me and tells me it is fake-- I asserted to him it is not. He then began a series of questions to ensure my identification. He eventually started laughing and told me he was just messing around. He then took my roommates ID who is also legal to drink. Still joking (we thought) he asked her if this was a fake ID. She jokingly said yes because he had told us that we were joking around. He put her ID back on the table and insisted that he couldn't serve us because "she said we had fake IDs." I have never felt so manipulated in my life. I then asked to speak to a manager, thinking that I would speak to a reasonable human being. Boy, I was wrong. The manager looked at my friend's ID and told her that she had never seen a Florida ID. She then asserted that having a fake ID is a crime, that she had the right to deny service, etc. To put the cherry on top (and not on the ice cream I wanted to order) the bartender told me that the star on my ID was crooked. If he had a problem with the way that my ID appeared, it should have taken it up with the Mount Pleasant DMV. What I thought was going to be a fun afternoon turned into accusations and they do not deserve a penny. Bless you if you have enough patience to go...
Read moreThis place has so much potential but doesn’t live up to it. Very cute decor and vibe- I mean women LOVE neon signs and fairy garden accents! But everything about this experience is sub-par. We made a reservation a month in advance and had to pay a $50 deposit. That’s understandable- but we did NOT need a reservation and it was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. They sent a confirmation email before the reservation and that’s when I noticed they have a minimum amount each guest is required to spend. For these kind of requirements, you’d expect excellent service and food. The food was just okay. The drinks were not great. We ordered two milkshakes and they were bland, which is weird to say about a milkshake but here we are. We also ordered peach and raspberry iced teas and they were not good at all! No one told us which table to sit at for our reservation until we had been there for at least 15 minutes. You also just order from the counter, and get your menus from there, which are very dirty. The floor was extremely sticky. The staff wasn’t very informative or helpful. For a Charleston weekend girls trip, there are better places to go! Do not waste...
Read moreAttempted to celebrate daughter’s birthday here, was unaware that Dulce was connected to a restaurant. The staff between the two are incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. I was led to believe that Dulce could handle large parties after calling and speaking to multiple associates so that her day went smoothly without a hitch. However, after we arrived and were seated a different associate told us that “if we were not here to eat any of the Anejas Tacos and Tequila’s food, to leave and free up the table for other guests” Mind you it was a slow Sunday evening and barely anyone else was there. All the servers went back and forth for nearly an hour doing everything in their power to discourage us from being there. No one attempted to serve us. We were ignored & forced to get up and go to the Dulce side of the establishment ourselves and order. For the sake of my daughter we bought ice cream quickly, sang happy birthday to her and left. Do not spend a penny here if you are a Black or minority consumer and/or have a large party. Sad that such an aesthetically pleasing business is sullied by...
