Ladybird Taco — Restaurant in Mountain Brook

Honestly, this place is better than I expected. The tacos are simple, surprisingly filling for the sizes that they are. The ingredients are quality, and the queso is absolutely amazing! I get the #5 taco, which includes black beans, eggs, potatoes, & avocado & then I add either carnitas , chorizo, or brisket. The salsa bar is cool, and I love the green salsa and the creamy one as well. The pastries are absolutely AMAZING, especially the berry Danish & the kouign aman (I hope I spelled that right). With the berry Danish, they don't tell you specifically what kind of berry Danish it is, especially if you order it online, & for me, I've come to find I sort of like that surprise! Sometimes it's strawberry, sometimes it's blackberry jam! And today, it was a cranberry one, believe! All variations are great! They have amazing coffee choices as well, although the size is way too small to be a $9 coffee. The staff is always friendly, the atmosphere is super cute and reminds me of Texas....I highly recommend checking...

I came one day and the manager was directly behind the front counter working on a computer and so I stood there for a second and one of the girls, who I know because her mom works at Ming's garden and Gardendale, I asked to talk to the manager she said he's busy right now it'll be later I said he's standing right in front of me like literally he was three steps away, ain't kind of turned and looked at me and she said it's going to be a while he's busy I said I'm a customer, when I need to talk to the manager he needs to turn around and talk to me

I come here for taco, yes? But then beautiful woman Jessie say, “You want coffee?” And I say, “Why not, life is short.” She make me this magical drink with flower on top like I’m royalty or somebody on vacation who is not broke.

Coffee so good, I think maybe Jessie is witch (but nice kind, not curse-you kind). Is strong like Siberian bear but smooth like lullaby from babushka. I take one sip, and my problems say, “OK, we go now.”

Also—flower on top. I no eat it. I just stare. I feel like fancy influencer but with oilfield hands.

Tacos also good, but coffee? Coffee is reason sun rise today. Jessie, if you see this, thank you for making art I can drink. You strong, beautiful barista woman with power of caffeine and flower.
