Cheers — Restaurant in Muncie

I got turned away at the door. Initially she claimed it wasn’t me in my ID ; which I admit , my ID is old and I look different. But after I showed her my credit card and capital one credit card account- to validate my identity, she then proceeded to say she cannot accept my ID and I needed to leave, because my ID said “not for real ID purposes”. Even though “not for real ID purposes” means that the ID cannot be used to: enter Board domestic commercial flights, Enter federal facilities, Enter nuclear power plants, and Enter military bases.this has nothing to do with entering bars or purchasing alcohol. It’s abundantly clear the woman had no idea what “not for real ID purposes” even meant. She simply made an assumption and turned me away, based on that assumption. I’ve used my ID to enter bars & purchase alcohol for years. I truly think the woman was simply looking for a reason to turn me away because they were an hour away...

Just had the worst experience in a long time!! We ordered an appetizer of giant stuffed tater tots. They were still cold in the center. The waitress took them back and whoever is cooking literally put what sent back into the fryer including the one that had a bite taken out. We then ordered our meals. Matt got a sandwich and steak fries. I got country fried steak, mash taters, and green beans. Matt’s fries were way under cook to the point they were like fresh cut dipped in oil. My mash potatoes were cold and tasted like straight plaster!

Now both of us are the type to let them know so it doesn’t happen to someone else but we couldn’t let the refrying of a bitten tater tots go! Not to mention we were the only ones...

Foods is honstly really great surprisingly, atmosphere is ok.

So why the one star for this review? I was charged for five beers when I ordered and drank three, guess the bartender (woman that's always there bartending) serving me that day thought I wasn't going to leave a tip or mixed my tab with someone else's.

No reason to upcharge your customers and pocket their cash or mix up tabs and end up losing good paying customers for good because of it.

Unfortunate experience overall.

I'd recommend any other bar in Muncie other than The Hitching Post, imo Cheers & ESPECIALLY The Hitching Post are the worst bars to go to in Muncie Indiana in my experience of...
