My first experience with this theater was a bit underwhelming. Quite honestly, I wouldn't care if I didn't return. I came here to see the 3pm 30th Anniversary screening of Backdraft. Granted, it was a small audience of only 9 people, but it still shouldn't excuse the issues that plagued this screening.
Everyone at this screening paid more for their ticket than anyone else at the theater, yet we had to deal with the lights being turned all the way up at the beginning of the film for the first several minutes and the theater staff HAD to be told to turn down the lights! Never have I been to a theater where the staff had to be told about the lights. DO YOUR JOB!
The audio was terrible. There were speakers with no sound coming from them! The sound level constantly fluctuated from quiet to somewhat loud with intermittent bass in scenes where it is heavily present. The sound in that theater sounded about the equivalent to watching the movie in my living room using the TV speakers as opposed to a speaker bar and surround sound. This is a movie that would have greatly benefitted from, oh I don't know, theater quality audio, perhaps?
I get it was a very small audience, but it's like like we were ignored and they couldn't give a rat's a-- about us when I'm sure all the other theater screens in the facility didn't have to deal with these issues.
Honestly, I feel a bit cheated. Sure, they won't care if I never return after spending $37.50 for three tickets, plus what I spent on concessions. It's a drop in the bucket to them, but they need to treat all their patrons fairly and have them leave feeling great. Whether they're seeing a high-grossing blockbuster, or a limited anniversary re-release.
Thanks for the...
Read moreThe absolute worst movie theater I have ever been to. Anyone who thinks it is "nice" has never actually been to a nice theater. If you were to go to Emagine in Noblesville, you would see the difference and, like me, you would never come back to the AMC in Muncie. In comparison to the Noblesville IMAX theater, Muncie AMC is dirty, worn out, higher priced and has significantly less to offer. The seats in Muncie are dirty and peeling and they don't actually recline, they tilt. The tickets and concessions have significantly higher prices than the Emagine IMAX. Additionally, the food and popcorn at Emagine is so much better and available whether you are there for the earliest showing or the latest one. If you see a late movie at the AMC, even on Saturday night, the concession offerings are pretty minimal... the ovens are already off so no pizza, pretzels or anything else baked, and no gourmet popcorn either. The AMC late night options are overpriced candy, regular popcorn that looks like its leftover from earlier showings, or one of the few deep fried items from the menu. Of course, they don't tell you any of this up front when you pay almost $20 for your ticket. This place is an absolute bust. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else for your next show. You will see the difference immediately and like me, you won't come...
Read moreThe theater itself is really nice, but it will have a 1-star review from me until it changes its cancellation policy. I started to place an order today and clicked âreview orderâ because the details for everything arenât on the final page - instead of showing me the order summary, it finalized the payment. Sure enough, the tickets were for the wrong day... so I attempt to cancel, but they wonât refund a âconvenience feeâ. I call the theater once and get hung up on. Second time, no answer but a voice recording gives me an 888 number to call about refunds. I call the 888 number, nothing happens. The number isnât valid. I call the theater again to go through the whole process just to make sure I wrote the number down right, and surprise! Someone answers. She is kind but says they canât refund convenience fees, and doesnât know what the 888 number is. The convenience fees are not small... Iâm now out twenty bucks because of cancellations. The website says you can get a refund but they mention nothing about the non-refundable cancellation fee. Oh, and when you go to place the order, they set you on a timer so you feel like you have to hurry or lose your seats, which is probably why I chose the wrong date in the first place. I realize this is an overall AMC issue not just Muncie, so be aware this will happen no matter...
