Comets Downtown Sliders & Fries Co — Restaurant in Muncie

So recently I had the chance to dine at Comets. Sadly, I drive by there almost every day to and from work, and it wasn't until the day before last that I had a chance to finally eat there. Got there right as they were opening even with it being as cold as it's been, below 30°, the gentleman at the window ambitiously took my order and was more than happy to explain some of the offerings that they have. As I sat in my car waiting for my order, the delightful lady who brought my food out was very eager to hear how I'd heard about the place and excited for feedback on their offerings. I do have to say that usually when eating sliders from any restaurant, I'm left wanting more. However, with Comets, I had their Experience Combo, which was two double Patty sliders with the crispy onions, an order of fries, and a coke...... and I was pleasantly full. Fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. The sliders are a smashburger style and have that perfect caramelized crunchy edges to the burger without being overdone. And their in-house sauce that they make, although I'm not sure what's in it, has a perfect balance of tanginess sweetness and a very subtle heat that only amplifies the flavors of the burger and fries that you're...

Smash burger style burgers were excellent. Fries were fresh, hot, and crispy. Very good food for the price and I would highly recommend it. The place has no indoor seating, and only a couple outdoor tables, but they bring your food out to you, and were friendly and helpful at all times. In particular, the grilled-cheese style sliders were spectacular, but I didn't taste anything that wasn't great.

For transparency's sake, I would not recommend the "special" lemonades, which I think were kool-aid or powdered lemonade mix. I also found the desert to be like eating straight up frosting, but my wife loved it, so different strokes for different folks I guess.

Have ate here a handful of times and every time it's top of the line. The service is friendly and every time we visit we are greeted cheerfully and welcomed backed with big smiles. Today we sat outside at their new table side seats in which they make it feel at home for you. I was sold on the first try but each time I go I'm impressed more. Also i do not know if they've always had ice cream but I was happy to find out today. I hope this business stays I definitely think it's worth every penny. Plus it isn't that expensive either.. and you can't put a price on true friendliness which I feel is their top tier aspect---next to their yummy star dust seasoning and special sauce we are all trying to...
