My husband and I happened to be in the Muncie area and randomly stopped in to eat dinner.
Walking in, the atmosphere immediately let us know that we had chosen a high-end steakhouse!
The hostess seated us immediately in a booth across from the bar. My husband found the booth seat very uncomfortable on his back, and there was a fruit fly that kept buzzing around us and our table the entire time we were there. My booth seat was semi comfortable, but the springs in the seat felt as if they were definitely starting to get a bit worn out. I would recommend asking for a table or even bar seating if you plan on eating here.
Our waitress Grace P informed us that it was her third night on the job and asked that if we had any suggestions for her to please let her know immediately. I must say she did an excellent job and I would have never known that it was only her third night serving there. It seemed like she had been working there for years. At the end of the meal when we informed her about the fruit fly problem she handled the conversation with grace, and lived up to her name! She said she would inform the owner in case there were other such problems in the future.
We didn't order cocktails as my husband has a medical condition where he cannot drink alcohol and I was the one driving. He is a coffee snob and he ordered the French Press. He said it was delicious and he would give it a 5/5. I had the lemonade which I felt was just average and something that I could have quickly made at home myself.
The bread basket was nice, particularly the cornbread. The butter however was hard to spread, as it felt a little more frozen than chilled.
My husband ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of scalloped potatoes with jalapenos. He said it was delicious, and that the scalloped potatoes were the best he had ever tasted.
I ordered Ron's signature bone-in 24 oz ribeye steak medium rare. It was extremely flavorful and cooked to perfection. This was the second best steak I have ever had with the winner being compared to a wagyu ribeye from a five-star Michelin restaurant in the Netherlands. It was absolutely delicious and one of the reasons why we will definitely come back to eat there again. The side of sauteed asparagus was also excellent as was the sweet potato casserole. The plate presentation was on point for both dishes.
The price was about what I would expect for a high-end steakhouse with the bone-in ribeye costing $63 and the chicken sandwich $16. I do wish that the menu had a price list, but I understand with the fluctuating meat prices that would...
Read moreFirst time here to celebrate our 27th anniversary. Ron Lahody, you sir did not disappoint! First of all we were seated right away. I'm in a wheelchair and we were seated at the back at a table. The atmosphere I gave 3 stars only because of the noise level & acoustics and tables are tight. It was decorated beautifully. It was very difficult to maneuver my chair down the main aisle too. It was very tight with booths down one side and people in chairs at tables down the other side. I had to ask some people to scoot up which they were very polite about and I thanked them. We were greeted by our server Huda who had such a beautiful smile and the most sincere personable & outgoing personality! No matter how yucky of a day you had, you couldn't help but smile back at her! I'm 52 yrs old and Huda was thee best, most attentive server I've ever had yet! We told her too and she genuinely appreciated it too. We got cornbread and bread brought out and omg..best cornbread! We had a shrimp cocktail and crabcakes for appetizers. Exceptional!!! Then hubby got prime rib, baked potato and mushrooms. I got the filet mignon, asparagus and baked potato. Dessert we shared a creme Brulee and Huda brought us out a choc cupcake with a candle for our anniversary which was a sweet unexpected gesture. As we were eating a well dressed gentleman came over to us and said thank you coming in this evening. Then he returned to a booth he was setting at dining too. Turns out it was Mr. Ron Lahody himself, the owner who was there dining. The staff said they hadn't seen him in awhile as he'd had surgery. I wish I had known who he was as I would've expressed to him how impressed we were with the food & Huda! So my apologies Ron. Let me tell you that was hands down the best steak I have ever had in my life! My first time having creme brulee too and it was also divine! I hope someone there sees this review and gives Huda a pat on the back. She was truly a great first impression with her smile. We will def be back! Mr. Lahody I'm sorry I hadn't tried it sooner. I've been to the meat market but not the steakhouse. You got a good thing...
