Hill Road Grille — Restaurant in Mundy Charter Township

This may be a long review. I'm not from flint but live here now. I had no clue where I could find a good place to eat with a hearty breakfast and I found HILL GRILLE on Google of course. I went there and was greeted by Adalaina, she immediately got my drink and a menu and gave me time to look over it. I ordered an egg and sausage to eat there but the food looked so good I had to order some to go. I ordered 2 Cobb SALADS small and 4 gyros to go. Brought them home to my hubby so he could eat later. I opened the bag when I got home and the salad was so big I could have sworn that they messed up my order and gave me a large. I took 2 gyros to work and they were so huge it took me all night to eat one and still had one to take home. My hubby was so impressed that he decided to take me there for breakfast and he couldn't stop raving about the portion size and how it was probably the best bacon he's ever tasted.I had the meat lovers omelette and it was stuffed with bacon sausage cheese and then topped with bacon and sausage. I have never eaten at a diner like this I would describe it as a more upscale diner. The food was delicious and the portions are huge and the service has always been PHENOMENAL! Highly highly highly...

To start, the food was good, so the kitchen staff are definitely doing a great job. They need better servers who aren't rude. First time going there , we were excited since they have such rave reviews, we ordered out, but once we got there the lady behind the counter was already in a bad mood. They had baged all three dinners and also some sides into one bag, to the point I couldn't put the handles together. I asked for another bag and she didn't acknowledge me just tossed me a bag. We get home to find that my mother order of coleslaw was in fact, apple slaw. Her mashed potatoes and gravy where ALL OVER her fish which made her fish soggy, and when she lifted her mashed potatoes that were on aluminum foil, she found corn underneath. If there is a "vegetable" served with her dinner why didn't get even get a choice? Or why didn't they even tell us? When I called to ask why or talk to a manager that girl who answered the phone just told me that's how it's served. So you serve soggy gravy covered fish? You put mashed potatoes ON TOP OF THE CORN AND FISH? You couldn't put it in a separate container? When I asked to speak to a manger she went to look for one just to tell me there's isn't one around right now... I WILL NOT...

I used to be a loyal fan of this place, but my recent experiences have been nothing short of disastrous. Imagine this: four out of my last five takeout orders have been wrong. This time, I ordered a Mexican omelet with jalapeños, and what I got was a far cry from what I expected. Driving back wasn't an option, and to add insult to injury, they didn't even offer a refund. Instead, they casually mentioned they'd make a note for next time. But honestly, will there be a next time? Keeping my money without delivering what I ordered feels like a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.It's not just me, my neighbors have also had similar issues. This once great restaurant is on a fast track to failure, all due to poor management and inadequate kitchen staff training. Here’s a picture of what I received, judge for yourself. At this point, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. Maybe, just maybe, this review will catch the owner's eye and prompt some much-needed changes. But I'm not holding my breath. It's unfortunate that this isn't a positive review, but people need to know what's going on so they can make informed decisions on where they choose to spend their money. Incompetence...
