The food, oh my Sweet goodness! The food was amazing. That is, after we FINALLY recieved it. We were seated within ten minutes in a "two or three minute wait" by what the hostess said. We were seated. Everyone was friendly, and pleasant. We sat and chit chatted and before we knew it we were chit chatting for 20 minutes. I began looking around. And normally if a place is getting there butts kicked and getting their their butts handed to them, I don't mind a wait. Especially after leaving Camino Real because they were on a two hour wait. Well, we could have waited, chit chatted, ordered, ate, and chatted some more at Camino and still got done before we ACTUALLY got out of this joint. There were two parties of like ten or twelve, but neither of those tables had the same waiter as us. And there were probably four empty tables. We got here at 645pm. We finally got our drinks at 7:19pm. Then we got chips and salsa very shortly after, and I requested cheese dip. It was atleast another 15 minutes before we recieved our cheese dip and ordered. We finally got our food 8:30pm. Then we got tired of waiting for the check so we left an $8 too, and then waited at the cash register for them to find our waiter, and ring us up. I decided that I needed to collect $4 off of the table and after paying for our $30 tab, I gave the other $4 to the manager to give to his waiter at the end of the night. I wouldn't want him to not be able to pay his bills, so he needed to be aware of the issue. Be aware of why I wanted him to think that he only got a $4 on a table that was forced to sit at his table for over two hours. I thought that the tip was well over the normal percentage I always try to tip WAY over the normal. I survived, put myself through school, and supported my child as a single parent with two waitressing jobs. So I believe in tipping. But not bad service. And I don't believe in tipping your waiter or waitress any less then you normally tip due to just one rough night, or one mess up. The food, AMAZING!!! The friendliness was great and everything else they had going for them. We watched three tables come in, eat and leave before we even thought about being able to eat. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to others. The fajita salad was the bomb dot com, even though I didn't get a taco shells. We were probably in the wrong place at the wrong time, and we got handed the little mistakes. That are definitely fixable for the next customers! Our waiter was very concerned with our wait after he realized the time we spent in there. And was friendly. I didn't want to make him have a worse night then he might have already been having so I didn't want him to have to answer for it until his shift was complete though. Any other time I have been here, we have been in and out, no huge huge waits even when they are slammed packed. All around it is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOkay, so this is/ was my first really bad encounter/experience with a Mexican restaurant and they're usually of excellent quality BUT not this particular one. I'm walking into this restaurant and I looked over to my right at the Mexican, short guy sweeping the floor and he's chooses to di the most unsanitary, disgusting, and nasty thing and goes to digging deeeeeeep into his nose with no tissue, no hand sanitizer, and doesn't even go to the restroom to blow his nose in private and wash his "nose digging hands". Then they send him to My table to take me order and I immediately looked at Him like he's bananas and I boldly asked him "Aren't you the guy that was doing the sweeping?" And he claims he didn't speak English well so I told him "Go get another person". When another person came I quickly asked them "Isn't he the guy that was doing the sweeping?" He says "Yes". I immediately did "I saw him do something very unsanitary digging in his nose and I don't want Him taking my order". The guy says "Okay" with a smile BUT I didn't trust him either at this point. So he takes my order and "the unsanitary deep nose digging" guy comes and gives me a straw and I immediately asked and summoned for someone else to give me a straw for he had no right coming to My table with his unsanitary, nasty self and I don't know WHY they would even let him work like that either. After I witnessed that my night there changedand my skepticism was/ went through their Mexican roof. It was just horrible and I never come there again, Smh.... Geesh,yuuuuuck.... Disgusting and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place to eat some food with the atmosphere of a mexican restaurant. The chicken enchiladas remind me of how my grandma use to make them. Chunks of chicken and little red sauce on it. Only two places in the USA have my "grandma's" enchiladas. Only negative critique I have is the stale chips.
I also purchased home-made clay mugs that had beautiful designs for cinco de mayo! I bought quite a few since I am from out of town. Been here twice and wish it was close to my home. Food is not 5-star quality, but definitely I would consider it as comfort food.
