December 2019: Now I’ve been to Sami’s a number of times and my first review of the place was not so great (April 2018). But six months later Sami wrote me and asked me to come back and try again, and as they say the rest is history. I’m a fan of the Pepperoni and how he adds a light sprinkle of red chili peppers to the pie. I HIGHLY recommend the buffet…you get to try everything and if there is a slide of pie you are looking for…Sami will hook you up.
The reason for this review…when I was there last week enjoying the pasta and pie buffet a customer came in and asked questions about the buffet. Seems the customer was hesitant and concerned about his wife (who was in the car) enjoying the buffet too, and it looked to me he was probably going to leave. Many restaurant owners would have let the customer walk out and moved on, but not Sami. He offered the customer a 2-1 buffet if he would bring his wife in to try the buffet!!!
I always try to support small businesses…and I am a huge fan of Sami’s not only for his food, but for the incredible way he treats his customers!
March 2019: About 11 months ago I visited Sami’s Brick Oven Pizzeria (twice) and suffice to say I wasn’t overly impressed. A few weeks ago Sami sent me a note asking if I would come back to his restaurant and try them again. It is rare (maybe 10%) of the businesses I have reviewed where my experience was less than stellar do they reach out. I felt if Sami believed it was that important for him I come back…then I would. So this past Saturday I went with my daughter and granddaughters to try the buffet again. I have to say…just from appearances everything looked appetizing and fresh. They even had raised the heat lamps over the pizza (one of the suggestions I made) and the pizza area looked great.
Pizza…I told Sami the plain cheese pizza on the buffet was not hot, so he makes a new pie. I have to say having had my share of slices in NYC, this was a darn good pie with great flavor and a little “kick” with some red pepper flakes. I would order a whole pie to go!!!
Pasta Bar…excellent! The sauces were fresh and tasty. The meatballs were still a hit and everyone thought they were delicious. Sami also had some BBQ meatballs and they were really good.
Salad Bar…everything was fresh and the bowls were full.
All I can say is what a difference between my visit now and what I experienced before. So thank you Sami for inviting me back, and thank you for being a pro-active owner who does everything he can to ensure his customers are happy and satisfied. I will see...
Read moreI finally got to visit Sami’s Brick Oven Pizzeria today after weeks of driving by to and from work. I just moved to town and haven’t had the luxury of exploring.
Let me tell you, Sami’s is a real find, a real treasure. The pizzeria itself is conveniently located on the main road through Murfreesboro, and inside is a comfortable, dimly lit and spacious dining room with music softly coming from overhead.
In the back of the dining room is Sami’s workshop. Pasta dishes, pizzas by the slice, a salad bar and the brick oven itself.
Sami was alone and hard at work when I walked in. He explained the current deals on slices and such before asking if I’d be dining in or taking out. I didn’t want to spoil his focus so I grabbed two slices and a booth. Cheese and then a pepperoni with sausage.
The pizza is incredible. The seasonings ontop are a peppery contrast to the sweetness in the tomato sauce, and the pairing is perfect. The brick oven bakes each pie into a crispy, crunchy crust that is not only delicious, but fun to chew as well. The toppings are diverse and fresh and carefully, skillfully crafted into pizzas anyone can enjoy.
I asked Sami for a margherita pizza for take out, explained that I was new there and definitely coming back. He was happy to oblige and just a few minutes later, he smiled at me while showing off his creation as he loaded it into a box. I couldn’t help but smile (and drool a little) too.
When I went to pay for the pie and two slices, he insisted my first two slices be on the house. He’s a true gentleman, a businessman, and a very relaxed conversationalist for such a talented artist. I believe he deserves every bit of appreciation he receives and I will be coming to his...
Read moreDriving in attempt to locate something to eat while out and about for the day. We tend to go to an establishment near by Sami's. We passed Sami's and immediately turned around to give this new place (new to us)a try. Sami was running a one man show. He was working hard to keep to buffet full Fulfill pre orders and walk in orders. I ordered from the menu, Gyro Sandwich and Finance had the buffet. Sami chatted with us and was super nice. I spent the evening telling my friends about how wonderful of an experience we had. The next morning we went back and we brought our three kids this time around. I called ahead and ordered a personal pizza for one of my kids (he is picky). The other four of us ate off the buffet. Again, Sami was running a one man show and doing it well! He still took time to speak with his customers and make everyone experience a pleasant one. My son had about two slices of pizza left in his box, when he dropped it on the floor. My Son was super upset. Sami quickly brought over two slices from the buffet even though we insisted it wasn't necessary. In two days and two visits, Sami has made us loyal customers. As an added bonus my friends call me a little after we had left and said they were heading to eat there after hearing me talk about it all night. When I followed up to get their thoughts. They too had a pleasant experience and said they will be back as often...
