Let me start by saying that I have eaten lots of pho from many different places. Also, I will say that I know what meat tastes like when it goes bad, unfortunately. Well, the meat in the chicken pho I ordered here was BAD. I mean, it offended my taste buds on the first bite and when I fished it out of the bowl it smelled even worse than it tasted. I immediately told the waitress about it hoping I could exchange the pho for something...Erm...Less likely to give me food poisoning. She took the meat away and came right back to inform me that it was fine. Uhhhh....Okayyy. The meat had tainted the taste of the broth so the remains of the dish was entirely inedible. I asked the manager for a replacement or, at least, a discount on the food that I wasn't going to be able eat. She refused both and stated that she had cooked the meat this morning. So I asked when she BOUGHT the meat because that was the real question. She simply repeated that she cooked it this morning. Well, I'm glad to know that you cooked some spoiled meat this morning and threw it in your soup hoping no one would notice. Had anyone acted even remotely apologetic or accommodating then I would chalk this up to a singular incident but based on the dodginess of the management I believe this is likely common practice here. Pad Thai Cafe is up the road and leaps and bounds tastier and friendlier...
Read moreOne of the top local places to get GOOD Authentic Thai/Lao food. Call ahead to place your order and when you arrive, just pull around to the convenient drive-thru style window to get your order without even having to leave your car. One of their signature dishes called The 'Wing of Angel' is outstanding. I highly recommend trying it out. (You'll find it on the menu under "appetizers") Another favorite is the 'Chicken Coconut soup'. It has a unique curry flavor and mushrooms that will have you wanting more. Some say that The eggdrop soup here is the best anywhere. It is certainly the top favorite of my husband and kids who are of Asian descent. It is also a great spot to get a bowl of Pho, a traditional vietnamese noodle soup and Thai Tea, a delicious sweet creamy tea beverage. We have tried many of the dishes here and have yet to find one that wasn't delicious. The owner and the staff are friendly and helpful and will answer any questions you may have. As of today 10/10/2020, the dining room remains closed due to Covid. However you can still call ahead and go get your Take-out order at the drive-thru. I believe they also work with 3rd party delivery services if you'd prefer. Call or go to their page for more details. We look forward to dining-in again when it is time. Until then I hope you will try Taste of Thai and enjoy eating it at...
Read moreTaste of Thai has been my to go place for Thai cuisine craving for decades. I typically rather bring left over for lunch instead of fast food, but Taste of Thai is an exception. I believed there was a new owner and their Menu had expanded. I saw bunch of specials such as BBQ quails. I cautiously ordered a large Vietnamese beef Pho in a Thai restaurant. Vietnamese cuisines locate in Murfreesboro is limited to none. As a Vietnamese born and tasted thousands of Pho bowls in Vietnam, California, Texas, Geogia, and in west Nashville, Taste of Thai’s beef Pho gets FOUR STARs. Beef broth is not overly sweet. One can taste beef flavor from slowly simmering bones in soup. I bet the owner used lots of beef collar bones with beef marrows to make this soup base. Noodles are fresh and not dry rice noodles in plastic bag. My bowl was filled with beef meat balls and slightly cooked round steak. The only critic I have, the lack of basil and fresh jalapeno. Basil is the most use herb in Thai cusisine and not sure why it was not served. These two fresh herbs are a must and not optional for southern style beef Pho. I am impressed that non-native Vietnamese chef can cook good Pho. Highly...
