We moved here from Chicago two years ago And we have lived in the area two years, in search of a good pizza. No joke. While the array of gas station pizzas might make them available or fast, they don't make them Chicago style.
So after two years of, what we hoped was pandemic induced drought of good pizza, we tried a variety of 'MEH.
We found a few that had decent pizza, but nothing that made us go back for more. Basically we settled on the theory that we moved from city life to country life, we got beautiful stars, a peaceful view and a quiet life. With "It will do" for pizza.
Until we found Martel's
Pizza, oh they do that great From authentic Chicago style stuffed that makes me want it typing this To specialty greats like Chicken Alfredo.
But WAIT!! WE also tried pretty much all of their subs. And let me say this... The Sub, Chicago style Italian beef.. Okay truthfully...we Chicagoland babies? We shave it.... Their sub is slightly more like a roast beef sandwich by cut However, I don't care how they cut it because they nailed the flavor Now, for us...it's a no no on American cheese We do straight Swiss or mozzarella. Which they happily accommodated.
The angry pig? The smokey pig? Absolutely fantastic
But WAIT!!!
Pasta?? Oh it's not just pasta you can make your own, picking ingredients so it's exactly how you like it From sauce to veggies
If you aren't already in the car going, let me just add DESSERT PIZZA
The apple cinnamon is decadent. But I intend to try them all You may think Ahhh then this must be expensive right?
Our recent trip was a family of five, two large pizzas, and FOUR subs with chips to go, AND a dessert pizza. We had pizza one night, and subs the next with enough of both left over for a third day of meals. Under 90.00 So we fed ourselves for days.
The staff? Lovely The washrooms? Spotless

What can I say? It took two years to come across it, and it's a family...
Read moreFriday night: my wife and I decided to order a pizza for delivery from Martel's. My wife called them, ordered a medium Italian, and TWICE very clearly asked for Jalapeno peppers ON THE SIDE. About 45 minutes later, the driver knocked on our door. He was insolent and somewhat less than polite. He acted as if he was somehow automatically entitled to a handsome tip. When we opened the box, we found the entire pizza was COVERED with jalapeno peppers, not separate on the side as my wife had clearly requested. The pizza itself was greasy and mediocre at best. When I called back to complain that our pizza had not been prepared as ordered, the girl who answered couldn't find our order and was not even slightly interested in our complaint. Save your money and go somewhere else --- ANYWHERE else! --- for your pizza. You can easily find better pizza and MUCH better service elsewhere. Stay away...
Read moreMe and my family have been eating here for years now! The reason for my one star is the way I was treated tonight. I even asked to speak to a manager and he was ruder than the lady who answered the phone. Our entire order was wrong and they tied telling me that they give cups of sauce with the wings not toss them. Me and my husband have always received them covered in sauce not completely plain! The pizza I ordered was wrong so I started to take all the peppers off the pizza so my kids could eat cause they were so hungry and the “manager” told me there wasn’t anything he could do cause he needed the entire pizza back in order to give me a new one. The way he spoke to me and his tone and sarcasm was absolutely rude and disrespectful and unprofessional. I’ve never had a problem with them before this and the food is great when they get it right... this was just...
