WORST DINING EXPERIENCE in quite some time! My mother wanted to take us out to eat in honor of our wedding anniversary and we decided on Applebee's. For a Sunday afternoon right after church, we remarked how empty the parking lot was. Should have told us something! Didn't take long to get seated, but it was a good 15 minutes before they took our drink order. It was another 10 minutes before they took our food order. Another 15 to get our appetizer. To make a long story short, after 90 minutes we realized everyone else had been served and left, we and another table or two were all that were left in the restaurant and we STILL didn't have our food! We decided if our food wasn't coming soon, we would pay for the appetizer and go somewhere else. The server was very apologetic, but when my husband spoke with the manager all he got from her was an "I'll check" My son and mother's food was brought very quickly then, but my son didn't get his broccoli with the explanation that "we are out", although my mom got hers?!?!?!?! it took about 5 more minutes before my husband and I got our meals. My husband had ordered the Fiesta Chicken, which comes with Pico De Gallo. His didn't. When he asked for it, he got a small bowl of cut up onions and tomatoes. No salt, no cilantro, nothing but onions and tomatoes. It was not very appetizing. I cannot believe how bad this experience was, it's not like there are no restaurants in Murray they are in competition with. There are so many nice places to eat with good variety in food choices and price ranges. My husband decided he was never going to eat at an Applebee's again, until I reminded him how good the one was we had eaten at in Federal Way, WA a few months ago while on vacation. The manager never came and apologized or offered to discount the meal or anything. We were there a good two hours and the food was only meh. Plus, we were so COLD. The restaurant was very chilly. The company needs to close this location. Quickly. It is giving Applebee's a very bad reputation. Only bright spot was that the server and greeter were...
Read moreHubby and I were traveling on his birthday and decided to stop in to Applebee's in Murray, KY for dinner. We eat at Applebee's a couple times a year and I was looking forward to the Chicken Wonton Tacos. Our server informed us they didn't have them but were getting them back on Friday, (we were there on Thursday). I ended up ordering the Fiesta Lime Chicken, as it has been a favorite since it was called Tequila Lime Chicken. I ordered a Stella to wash it down. My beer tasted a bit stale, so I am only assuming the keg wasn't replaced after the pandemic reopening. My dinner was served with salsa (from a jar) and I had to ask for the pico, as this is how it has always been served and adds so much to the dish. There were about 3 crushed, soggy, tortilla strips on top of the chicken, instead of the usual handful. The chicken tasted good, as did the rice, although the rice appeared to be left over from a day or so before and reheated. As we were eating our dinner, I witnessed our server making drinks for another table. She had blended a frozen drink and poured it into a glass. I watched her put the glass under the counter and stick her bare fingers in the glass to fish out a couple of ice cubes that failed to crush. She put them back into the blender with a splash of liquid and poured it back into the glass and proceeded to serve it. She and I had just had a short conversation about masks, cleanliness, and germs. We will still visit other locations, but I highly doubt we will ever eat at this particular Applebees again, even though we will be moving...
Read moreOur server was horrible! She brought me the wrong item on my plate, said they were out of pepsi products, brought my sister a water and asked if it would be ok. I asked for mayonnaise she came back 10 minutes later and said she couldn't find it. I asked for salt and pepper. She, on her way to get s and p she stopped to help the hostess, nobody was waiting. I had to call for her, she was close, and asked for my s and p. When she finally got back she said sorry about that but she's new and needs my help. I waited until the other 2 people I was with finished their food to get my onion rings..she never came back to see if everything was ok, we ordered 4 appetizers and 3 entrees. she NEVER offered to remove any of the plates! Our booth was so crowded, she was nowhere to be found. Never asked if we wanted another cocktail, which was ok because it took almost 20 minutes to get the first round. Another person asked for mayo for me and she told him they were out of mayo. Other people at 2 other tables were complaining about how they had been waiting 45 minutes for a salad. She had 3 tables to manage, not acceptable. Was there no super- vision there Sunday afternoon around 2:30ish? I dont think I...
