Just visited today, and the service was NOT great. I've been to this establishment 3 times now because I genuinely love Denny's, but man, did this visit really annoy me. First of all, when I say I was not happy with the service, I don't mean Crystin G., who was an absolute sweetheart and was trying her best to take care of so many tables, or the older Hispanic woman who was bussing tables, and even at one point, since my party and other parties were coming in and waiting a bit, came up front while bussing to sit everyone down. Or the 2 cooks in the back working hard to make some savory food. No, I did not like the service from 2 specific employees; Ivan and this older black gentleman. For starters, both men did not help Crystin at the front sit people down. Nor did they really pay attention to any of their tables. Ivan was checking his phone alot and, possibly texting is what it looked like, while the waitress was handling way too many tables. Ivan was even on his phone checking texts while he checked out our tab at the front. Then, the older black gentleman did not have a friendly face or attitude. I didn't see him once write up people's orders. He just walked around with the coffee pot and filled some cups here and there. All while checking his watch a lot and not helping others. Then he would stop randomly at times at tables he wasn't even servicing and talked to patrons for a fat minute. All while Crystin was juggling, what felt like the whole establishment. This place always seems understaffed, and it's ridiculous to see some people working their butts off even though you know they're irritated by the no help they get from their other coworkers. So very big kudos to Crystin, the older busser, and the cooks in thee back for trying to keep the ship afloat, but you can only do so much when the rest of your team does not care. The burgers and fries were moist, flavorful, etc. What rubbed me wrong this visit was the lack of care when it came to the waiters. Now mind you, the waitress, Crystin G, has ALWAYS been on top of her game, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've been here; she has managed being a host, serving, checking people out their tabs, etc. It's the other waiters that just do not care. Even the busser, a sweet older hispanic woman, stepped up to help seat us and some other people waiting at the front. HUGE KUDOS to her. It was the 2 gentlemen. One was named Ivan who was on his phone alot (He even texted on his phone while he was checking us out) and bringing out SOME food while the dining room was busy and Crystin was managing way too many tables. And then there was this older black gentleman who did not have a friendly approach and seemed like he just did not want to be there. He would walk around with a coffee pot in his hand, refilling whatever mugs needed to be filled, checked his watch way too much, and would stop to have long talks with random customers he wasn't servicing. It's just infuriating that while service was busy and we waited 10 mins to order (as well as others), workers like Crystin, the older woman who cleaned up tables, and the 2 cooks in the back were absolutely killing it and working so hard. Read moreI went to this location with my family and ordered two build your own grand slams breakfast, two bacons, two sausages, extra two pancakes for my husband, and the kids confetti pancake meal for my daughter. As soon as we ate the pancakes it had a funny after taste, we wasn’t sure if it was the syrup that was expired or the batter of the pancakes. We had Sergio who was “in charge” at the time remake the pancakes and we had the same problem. My daughters pancakes was overloaded with I’m guessing is the whipped cream, where she couldn’t eat her pancakes either. We wanted to voice this with Sergio again, but he was no where to be found. I had to stop a lady that was cleaning, if she can find him for us. We waited and he still hasn’t came to us, so we decided to leave overall, I told him about his customer service and about the food. And how we shouldn’t pay, we only took a bite to try it and insisted us to pay for everything. There was no manager on duty and the food was terrible.
