Let's begin by saying that The Habit is not going to be habit forming, for what we had, was only one more on a long chain of similar items. Not a revolutionary eatery by a long shot. Yes, the investment is there, plenty of bells and whistles, and the prices way up there to reassure the patron that this is indeed the place to be. Food selected for a first time visit: 2 Albacore Sandwhiches with Teriyaki sauce on the side (requested to avoid over sweetening things), $6.99: a fish sandwich with a desire to come across with a higher pedigree. Edible, a little tiny bit dried, and very slippery, like if it wanted to head on back to the sea in which it was found, or was it farmed? Who knows these days? The wheat bun was small, nothing to clap about it, did I hear anyone say: chippie? The sourdough bread, which was for the second sandwich a little nicer, but no different than any sourdough available at the regular markets. 3 Stars. 2 Double Chars, $4.85 each: for the sake of expediency must be, they are called double char, and this is no more, no less, what one would get at any place they decide to stop to get a burger, nothing really special about the beef used, and much less the ingredients that accompanied this item. 3 Stars. 2 French Fries, $4 both: Yes, they were crispy, but once again, who doesn't make them crispy when they first get out of the fryer. Been there, tasted that, no first price for the best fries here. 3 Stars. 2 Sodas, $1.90: all you can drink of carbonated offerings, this one favoring Pepsi, Coke? I forgot. Carbonation was not too shabby. 3.5 Stars. People that worked in the place, were very nice and one specially nice lady, saw us outside at a table and went inside and got us ketchup for the fries, we got a little humbled there, for we felt she went out of her way to be nice. We felt mighty good about her help. The Habit is out there, lines on this weekday a little busy, but then they slowed down, for we had arrived at the end of the lunch rush? Will we be coming back to The Habit? And what about the name, is it for people to get used and repeat their business? Who knows how they established the name, but habit forming it is not. Total: $34 with...
Read moreI’ve enjoyed great meals at this location many times, and I have to say, the new steak sandwich on ciabatta looks awesome, but I have celiac disease, and I can’t trust Habit to make my salads Gluten Free as they must be. All was going well: I ordered a chicken Caesar with no croutons, explaining as I always do that I have actual celiac disease and it has to be GF. ‘No Croutons’ appeared plainly on the receipt pictured below. So I got my salad, saw no croutons, and started eating. About the 8th time I stabbed my fork in, something went ‘CRUNCH’. Who puts croutons on the bottom of a salad?! !
The counter person looked mortified when I told her. The manager gave me my money back and apologized, but I’m just sitting here waiting for a few more hours before I get sick. Celiacs Beware! It’s just not safe to eat at The Habit.
Updating six months later, I elevated this location to four stars (from 2) because I’ve been here twice with friends and family without issue. I will always check my entire salad before diving in, but so far, so good.
I did get a personal letter from Habit Corporate promising more training, so I can report that my incident was handled thoughtfully and...
Read moreBeen coming to the habit Burger for many years. I've honestly not had it in quite a while probably sing probably since prependimic times. The 1st thing I noticed was the price increases which makes sense with rising food cost in the inflation. That being said I think their prices are still pretty fair it's only $9 for a meal which is all right my book. I'd be lying if I did say that the price of the teriyaki char is now 4.5 dollars but coming from when they used to cost $3 dollars but I still was okay paying that. More importantly it tasted the same as I remember just as good and just as juicy. The double Char was a good size, my 9 year old thinks he can eat like a body builder athlete and was o lying able to finish a quarter of the burger but it was a meal for me the next day! The quality of the ingredients are fresh and you can taste it. The teriyaki Char was just as good, love the grilled pineapple and the sauce. Their drink selection is very good as well they have different teas available as well as a condiment bar which I preceded to load my food with. Always a...
