So Cal Tacos & Beer — Restaurant in Murrieta

I visited the new location by Aldi’s yesterday and I LOVE it. I’ve always found the food to be amazing so this review is long overdue. I’m from Chula Vista where I grew up with so many amazing taco shops. I moved to the area about 3 and a half years ago and have found too many taco shops disappointing. Carne with no flavor, beans bland, salsa not tasting like anything, etc. A friend recommended SoCal Tacos & Beer to me so my boyfriend and I checked it out. Holy cow it was amazing. The tacos, the surf and turf burrito, the carne 🤤 everything I’ve tried has been incredible. I’ve been obsessed with birria for years and was so happy the one they have here is delicious. Every single employee that has helped us has had incredible customer service. I was so excited to hear they were opening a new location and was eager to see the outcome. We finally made it yesterday, it didn’t disappoint. It gives a perfect SoCal feel. We sat in the outdoor seating, the sun felt amazing. I got the steak and egg breakfast burrito, my boyfriend got the campechana cocktail, it was the best I’ve ever tried. The octopus was cooked perfectly! The shrimp, as well. It was the perfect blend of citrus and salt. My burrito was sooo delicious. The steak was cook so nicely. The eggs and cheese 🤤 I got the sour cream on the side, that’s why it isn’t visible on my photo. The margarita flight was an amazing deal and all of them were so delicious. We got the Paloma, watermelon, blueberry and mango. 20/10 would recommend you try it out here. I’ll be back...

Ordered a meal of 2x fajita plates, a combo plate, 24oz salsa, rice, beans, 2x chips, and then 1 each of: onion, tomato, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce. Got none of the toppings, no tortillas and the 24oz salsa was missing. Called to see what was up, manager answered and was adamant he put everything in the bags. Clearly they did not, 20 minutes of arguing he finally goes, "oh, you're right I didn't..." Ask how they're going to make this right because frankly, fajitas without everything missing are not great. Says he'll refund $7, tell him numerous times that's absolutely unacceptable the missing items alone were $14, let alone the fajita meals that are basically ruined. Tells me too bad, can only do $7 and questions how I even ordered the fajita sides (WHICH ARE ON THE GRUBHUB APP THAT THE RESTAURANT SETS UP THEMSELVES).

I went to this place today, and they didn't disappoint. I challenged them to my nachos criteria They hit every single thing perfect The al pastor hands down the best I had to this date, the pork was extremely flavorful, perfect crispy bits The cheese wasn't too much, but it added a little depth to it, The beans were the right consistency And the crown the chips didn't get soggy, it stayed warm and crispy throughout the duration of my meal The Chipotle sauce and hot cheeto bits made it amazing

So Cal Tacos and Beer fantastic job today not only did you exceed my expectations you set the bar for other places
