Ok, I get it why the pig is green.
If you are an OCD eater…… You know, a person that can’t stand to have the different food items on their plate touching each other. Each must be perfectly separated. Or, if you must eat your food items from your plate in a certain order. One item at a time and only you can determine the proper order. The BBQ Sunday (Parfait) is NOT FOR YOU. It will short out, explode that OCD brain. The BBQ Sunday is utterly food chaos.
I had to have it. In a 20oz drink cup, from bottom to top; BBQ beans, pulled pork, Cajun Slaw, potato salad, topped off with BBQ sauce and a pickle spear. In reverse order. Potato salad, very different, a startling texture. The potatoes are diced into very small cubes. Taste decent. The Cajun Slaw, spicey, unusual, excellent. The pulled pork very good. And finally, the beans, mixed with small chunks of smoked bologna. Good, but by the time I worked my way down to the beans I was stuffed. A rich filling cup of food.
My wife had the Smoked Bologna sandwich. She’s hooked. It comes with the Cajun Slaw. She liked the slaw as much as I did.
The little BBQ shack is tiny. A small independently owned Pig Stand. If you know what that is. Check the video. Set up primarily for to go orders or eat on the picnic table out front. Inside, a bar circles the dining area with a few bar stools. Ambiance…..looks and smells like a BBQ joint inside. The food has a hint of Cajun influence. Friendly service. “The Slaw is the...
Read more20240315T1240 - Arrived at 12:40 and was able to order right away. I ordered the hot link sandwich as part of the Friday special, which includes your choice of regular sandwich, chips, and a 16 oz fountain drink for $9.99. I also ordered the Chicago style hot dog. The total was $14.72 and I had my order in about 8 minutes. Staff was very friendly, helpful. If you are paying with a card and wish to tip on it, you have to tell them before they run it. I ordered to-go, which will be important later. I got back to my company's breakroom with my meal. They do not skimp on portions!!! 1.5 hot links in the sandwich, sliced lengthwise and extending past the large hamburger bun. Slaw and BBQ sauce on top. However, I failed to account for drive time, and the sauces sogged up the bottom bun around the edges. I HATE soggy bread, but to my surprise the bun held up and didn't detract form the experience. The hotdog was also delicious. Inspired by Chicago style hotdogs, with a few substitutions, such as pepperoncini peppers for sport peppers, and poppyseeds on top for poppyseed bun. But it was still delicious and toppings almost overflowing the bun. All in all, my current favorite barbecue...
Read moreFirst off, don't judge this book by its cover. The place might look like a closet-sized mystery from the outside, but inside, it's a carnival of flavors!
Let's talk about the pulled pork. It was so good but the slaw? Eh, it was like the opening act that nobody really remembers. Now, the hot dogs - we're talking a whole new level of yum. The chili cheese jalapeño hot dog was like a party in my mouth, and everyone was invited. The burrito? Imagine all your favorite food dreams wrapped up in one. It's like finding a treasure chest in your backyard.
The service was faster than me running away from my gym membership renewal and the prices? Let's just say my wallet came out of that place heavier than I did.
In a nutshell, Frank-n-Swine is the place to be if you want to eat like a king on the budget of a court jester. I'll definitely be back, probably tomorrow... and...
