Reading some of these reviews has given me a good giggle. A couple of them had to be either gross exaggerations from the kind of people who are never happy no matter what, outright lies, or from disgruntled former employees or lovers. My family and I have been eating here since they opened and we have never had a bad experience, dine in or delivery. Someone said it's not kid friendly. This is probably one of the kid-friendliest places I've eaten at, outside of Chuck E. Cheese's or Cinderella's Castle.
I've eaten at some of the top-rated restaurants in the country and have had meals privately prepared by world-class chefs. It's not like I'm a local yokel or townie that wouldn't know fine cuisine if it smacked me on the head. Is Napoli's highbrow fare? Nah. But I prefer it over any other Italian restaurant in a 300-mile radius except for one, but they never seem to be in the same town for more than a few years at a time so we'e always having to find them again. It's like culinary hide-and-seek.
We have one other Italian restaurant in town that I only go to if invited because, even though it's more expensive & considered "fancier", they only have four items that hold a candle to anything Napoli's serves, as far as I'm concerned. (Shout out to AP's shrimp wontons, fried artichokes, Uncle Vito's nachos, and the jalapeño crawfish chowder; however, two of those items you can also get at Clear Springs so I can enjoy them without having to go to AP's, but I digress.)
The food is ALWAYS fresh & good and service is always friendly & as fast as circumstances will allow. (E.g. service is going to be faster on a Tuesday evening than for dinner the night before or evening of graduation.) The atmosphere is always laid back, never pretentious. My one & only complaint about Napoli's is, and always has been, their bathrooms. I don't think those have been renovated since before the building was a Hardee's. I can't lie, they're pretty questionable. So much so that they have been the tie-breaker for the question of "do we eat there or get it to go?" on more than one occasion. Good thing we don't eat in...
Read moreWe were in town for my son's music audition at SFAU and we stayed just across the street. The parking lot was full all through dinner so we had to investigate. We were greeted quickly with smiling faces. The dining room was clean and full of patrons. Service was speedy and attentive. Our server Katy was delightful and walked us through the experience. We had a pizza, scampi and an entree salad with a really great bottle of DOC Pinot Grigio. The table bread was really delicious and soaked in garlic butter, yum. We had nothing but positivity walking out. We wanted dessert but we were stuffed!
Very happy with our choice to dine here. Server Katy mentioned that they had a busy night, but we wouldn't have noticed. Food came out in good time, hot and just as we had ordered.
If our son decides to go to the school(fingers crossed) we will definitely be back for that dessert.
Thanks Katy!
Second Visit 6mo later: was back in town to visit our boy who is now a student at the University. Had all of the kids with us so we shared pizza and salads. 11:30 on a Sunday so the place was packed, but they were handling the rush beautifully. The owner got us a table within 5 minutes. Thrilled to have Katy as our server again. Nothing but kind and generous hospitality. My family commented on how perfect the lighting and sound levels were even when dinning room was full. Very enjoyable space. Small salads were very generous portions and very well composed. Pretty sure the dressings were both homemade. Pizzas were excellent again and we enjoyed the plate of olive oil, herbs and garlic. We were smearing pizza crust in that plate the whole time. The garlic rolls really should come with a warning. They are fantastic and I ate way too many. My student was excited to have leftovers to take back to the dorm. Service from Katy was effortless and seamless again. It was easy to see that they were working hard during a busy service, there was no lag in timing. Everyone was doing their part and anticipating the next step. Real professionals. Thank you for another wonderful meal! Can't wait to see...
Read moreI've been here a few times. And I've figured it out. The male goes above & beyond to treat his customers wonderful. The female does not. He is clean cut, wears a silver necklace, & lots of plastic bendable bracelets on his wrists. The female is slim, has brown hair, shoulder length maybe. And here's what I've figured out. If you get seated in the area when you 1st walk in, he's your server. If they take you all the way to the other side, she will be your server, unfortunately. My complaints: When I 1st walked in, the greeter (young kid, big wavy hair, slim build) He asked how many & I said 3. He picked up 1 menu & 1 silverware. Then we unfortunately got seated on the other side, not the 1st section where I'm used to sitting. So the lady came, she served us 3 drinks & only 2 straws. She brought us the bread with no dipping sauces, she didn't even ask if we wanted dipping sauces, she saw we only had 1 napkin & not once offered to bring out more. She set my to-go box on the table beside us. Like lady, just hand it to me, I'm sitting right here. She checked on the table in front of us & behind us, but didn't check on us. She took forever bringing out the check, even though the people beside us got their check first, but arrived after us. While there, however, I observed the male serving a table in the other section, asking them would they like the (2) dipping sauces, asking them how they was enjoying their food, bringing out extra napkins without being asked, just being so polite, so courteous, which is how he has always served us as well. (And we've always tipped him well) The lady who served us, she was nowhere near getting a tip. I paid for my $50 order and left without tipping. She needs to be fired. & He needs a raise. Next time I come, I will refuse to sit in...
