Taco Bueno — Restaurant in Nacogdoches

I grew up on Taco Bueno. It was always a welcome change in the monotony of hamburger helper and spaghetti nights that seem to never end. It is my strong belief that food from Taco Bueno is a far superior to that of the more popular taco bull up the street. taco bull has everyone fooled. They don't have a real kitchen.

Now Taco Bueno on the other hand has a full on kitchen back there. Why do you think the food tasted so good? They actually cook it before you eat it, vs. heating up a bag of month old meat filling to feed you.

The staff is constantly changing here but such is this type of business. They have a good staff in there now. I had the Tamales today. Those are really good. I was very surprised at how good they are. I would buy them all the time. I like the party burritos with no chili sauce. It's the perfect portion of bean and bread and cheese. I also had a chicken enchilada plate that was so good I hated having to give up one to the wife... Get some Bueno to go. I...

This was my first time ever at a Taco Bueno, and I did not like it. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the potato grilled burrito with beef and chicken quesadilla. I didn't get either of those orders and didn't find out till I got to my studio.

Considering I was pretty hungry, I still ate what I got, some tacos with beef and flour tortillas, other tacos with a pita type bread, and a burrito type meal with rice and beans. Taco Bueno is our favorite grab and go place!! This particular location is superb! My children cannot have gluten and the staff here are amazing when I tell them.,they go out of their way to be sure my kids meals do not come in contact with gluten. They always wipe everything down and change gloves. This extra care and attention make this a must stop for us every time we are in Nacogdoches!
