The service at this place is so bad that it almost, but not quite, rises to comical. When we came in there were several empty tables. The hostess told us it would be a fifteen to thirty minutes wait. In hindsight that was a red flag. She seated us and two other parties. We sat down and waited. And waited I watched the other tables that were seated with us be brought waters, order drinks, get their drinks, and order food. A table next to us was seated. I went up to the hostess and asked if anyone knew we'd been seated, since we hadn't seen anyone yet and I'd watched the parties seated at the same time as us be attended to several times. She asked where we were. I pointed out my kids, she said she'd talk to someone. A few minutes later a server walked right past us to the table that was seated five minutes ago and greet them. I was about to pack it in when someone stopped by. He asked if anyone had stopped by yet. I told him no. He apologized and told me they had new staff that didn't understand sections. He told us we weren't in his section, but he'd take care of us. He really tried, but he was already over extended. We ordered three entrees and a cup of soup. We watched the parties that had been seated at the same time as us pay their bills and leave. At some point the hostess walked by and asked if someone had some by yet. Then shouted "sorry" over her shoulder. After fifteen minutes the food runners brought the food for the next table to us. We eventually convinced them that what they had brought wasn't what we'd ordered (except for one dish). They took it away and gave it to the folks that had ordered it. Five minutes or so later our server brought our entrees and asked me "did they bring you your soup?" They hadn't. He brought it to go with my oysters. The food was okay. Not bad, not great. Certainly not good enough to mitigate the completely incompetent front of house staff. I was expecting they'd offer us some sort of compensation for the awful service. Comp the soup, free dessert, something. They didn't. I don't know how hard or easy it is to find competent staff in the Outer Banks of NC, but either way this place has abjectly...
Read moreWait was reasonable, waitress was helpful and food was okay but menu had several items that were listed as market Rate. Certainly crab or fish that makes sense but chicken wings? I asked the waitress how much were the wings she said “about $10 or $11 dollars” so I said yeah I’ll order them. Asked her how much was the fish and chips she said “I think it’s $17 or $19” so I ordered those as well (also listed as Market Rate) food came back, ( I was eating with 4 other people) and it was okay then when the bill came the wings were listed as $14.99 and the fish and chips listed as $19.99. Wasn’t too concerned but figured I would share this with the waitress as price of the wings was considerably higher than quoted. She immediately became defensive saying “well the price changes all the time. I told her I get it but it shouldn’t change during the same day and since you quoted me. She asked if she wanted her to take off $5.00 I said yes. She brought the bill back and she took off only $3.00 which was more frustrating. Just do what your say out going to do. At this point the attitude this waitress had would prevent me from ever coming back. As i was walking out the door i heard her start talking about me. It’s fine. I come to OBX 3-4 times a year and won’t be spending my money at...
Read moreOut of all the OBX vacations I have been to, this establishment obviously is not tourist friendly.
My family of 4 adults, and 4 kids, one including a baby were trying to decide if we were going to eat here. The other two adults were going to meet us after they were finished fishing. We also were going to look at a store right next door while we made our decision. The parking is not the best first off; and this was a bigger lot, with no signage stating we couldn’t park there. They were not busy, it’s not prime beach season now, AND it was past the lunch rush. The hostess decided to WAIT until we were all out of the vehicle, with all of our children to tell me and my family we weren’t able to park here. Now mind you, nowhere does it state only parking for the restaurant. We were even interrogated whether or not we were planning on spending money on food at this restaurant. When I mentioned we were still deciding, that was an unacceptable answer and told us we needed to move.
So we ended up not visiting this establishment; and I confronted the hostess to express that we were leaving since the they were so busy! (Looked as if even staff was sitting around as well) this is one business I’ll never share my business now with! You just lost a...
