Booty Treats was a .... well .... treat! We actually enjoyed dessert here a couple of nights while on vacation. The first night, we were a little unprepared for the menu and didn't know exactly what to order. I asked the lady taking our order for a recommendation and she said that the Booty Freeze was the most popular menu item, but I was feeling more like ice cream, so I opted for an ice cream cookie sandwich, and my husband ordered a milkshake. Both were great! The ice cream cookie sandwich is HUGE and served in a bowl.
The next time, we decided to try the treat that they're famous for. The Booty Freeze is where they put mini melts (which are basically Dippin' Dots) in the bottom of a cup, shave ice on top of that, and then more mini melts in the center and on top. I asked the lady what combination of Booty Freeze she would recommend. She said her personal favorite was sour apple shave ice with vanilla mini melts and a caramel drizzle, saying it tasted like a frozen caramel apple. And I was sold.
Y'all. It was so good. TOO GOOD.
They have a really cool spot to hang out in the yard at the picnic tables or benches, where you can watch the cars driving by, or you can take your treats across the street to the public beach access and enjoy them by the ocean. It's definitely one of our new favorite...
Read moreAbsolutely love little places like this in the Outer Banks. I hope to someday have property and live here permanently. Just a very peaceful area to go especially in the offseason which generally runs from September until March or early April. Definitely a must stop for a sweet treat with the kids and be careful because the road is a little busy. But I love little local places and want to support all local businesses like this one. In general I have nothing but good things to say about the Outer Banks and it's ice cream shops and friendly local families and business owners. I highly recommend the Outer Banks as a vacation spot for anyone and we continue to go back...
Read moreAll the icecream on the beach is going to be expensive. Bottom line. But this place sure don't skimp on their scoops and seemed to be the best bang for our bucks at least. I got a double scoop.waffle cone...and you might as well have considered it a triple scoop size. Other icecream places we visited and gotten double scoops at weren't nearly as large. I don't know if this is the normal size they give to everyone...bc we only stopped here once...or if maybe the girl working was just feeling generous. But I felt good getting more of my moneys worth compared to other places. The icecream was also good. But icecream is always good to me no...
