Read moreCoffee is decent, so that is not the reason for my rating. However, I did have a negative experience with one particular barista at this location yesterday morning that warrants a one star rating. I ordered 2 coffees, one hot and one cold. The cold one, I received as soon as I finished paying. Then I waited for my second one that was taking longer to be prepared. When my name was finally called to pick it up, the heavy set barista with dark hair questioned me if I was actually Victoria and held back my drink. I said, "yes it is. I'm Victoria." Still holding my drink, she went on about how people had been stealing coffees that were not theirs. Finally, she gave me the coffee I paid for. I was the only person she did this too. Compared to the other patrons in the coffee shop, I was dressed well, so this certainly could not have been based on appearance. I also found this same barista looking at me while I stood in line to place my order, so we even made eye contact while I was in line at one point. I'm not quite sure what her vendetta was against me, but this was unprofessional and should have never happened. A paying customer should not be treated in this manner. Even is this location has been having issues with drinks being stolen, this still does not merit a paying customer being treated this way. If this is an issue, require patrons to hold on to receipts to pick up their order--for everyone, across the board.. I paid for both my drinks, and to be harassed for just picking up the order I payed for and embarrassed in such a manner--not okay. I will not be...
Read moreFront Porch Cafe is an example of why people tend to gravitate toward chains rather than go local. I personally would rather support the local economy; I was with my family when I advocated going here instead of across the street to Dunkin Donuts.
-1 Star for price: let's just say that half my party had wished we had gone to Dunkin Donuts across the street solely for the price.
-1 Star for service: The barista preparing the drinks had a very negative attitude. She didn't smile, she didn't use kind words, and she was very short with all the customers that I witnessed her interacting with.
-1 Star for music: We went in at 4:30, an hour and a half before close. One song later, Pandora announced that someone else was logged into the Pandora One account somewhere else and in order to stop receiving this message they needed to log out from the other location. At 5 there was no music except for...
-1 Star for cleanliness (or lack thereof): ...the music of the attitude barista loudly ranting about how dirty all the equipment is and how it's so easy to clean. And since there was no music playing, everyone could hear her.
-1 Star for taste: Coffee and espresso drinks were mediocre at best.
I've run out of stars but I'll give them +1 for having a really nice and welcoming set up. The rooms, the artwork, and the seating all felt comfortable. But unfortunately everything else just made for a mostly...
