IHOP — Restaurant in Nampa

Update Nov. 1st 2022 My friend took us out for dinner here. And enjoyed the food. We all did. But not so much the service. Two young fellows seemed to be running the front. We were seated. And eventually made our order. Portions of fries were small. I ordered a side salad and during the entire time never received it until I said something. Which when I did, we also requested for the mix up of pancakes to be corrected. And refills. Nothing was done til we were ready for check out. Waited a long time after asking for the rest of my order (the side salad) My friend who took us out wanted buttermilk chocolate chip pancakes. Instead they gave the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. And my salad wasn't very appetizing. It was bad and I just picked out some of it. And figured I'd eat the rest for later if what was ok to eat. Ended up taking it home and not eating it. Got bad quickly and ended up throwing it out. Wasted money. Also, one young fellows mouthed to the other young gentleman saying my friend lied. Sadly, no young guy. She didn't. And wasn't appreciated to having to wait either for when I had to go up and literally ASK for the rest of our order and what needed to be fixed. I get that there can be miscommunication, and everyone has errors. But this felt deliberate. Is upsetting at how we were treated. I remained calm and appreciative for what time the waiters gave us. Though overall sad and upsetting service.

Went in today. Xmas Eve of 2019. The place wasnt very busy surprisingly & our waitress was doing the best she can, from what i see she was the one moving a lot-helping. I followed her up to pay my bill & witness another waitress jerk a card out of her hands to get into the computer system... I didnt really appreciate seeing that, not one bit. Mistreat co-workers then they can mistreat you while on the job "not professional". Portions small & beware of ordering extra sides. Service was slow & not happy about paying 3 bucks for 2 "SLIVERS" (NOT slices as they call it) of HAM! $1.50 per slice? for not even two bite size pieces! Also, Not much fries for my plate...wasnt...

Sadly one of 2 only bad experiences in an IHOP I've ever had. First one was in Boise off of Emerald near Milwaukee over 3 years ago (which is now great actually). And now this Nampa IHOP. Waitress never gave us her name, sat us down got us drinks within 60 seconds, everything started fine. But the waitress made a fatal mistake. She decided catering to an obnoxious, unruly, complain heavy table of 5 adults and 7 children was the smart choice, leaving me and my wife for over 15 minutes without any check ups to take our order. This table was absolutely terrible and i feel for the waitress but she should have paid attention to her other 3 tables so much more than the cows she was trying to win over after a dispute on how long their fries took to come out.

After this table had been served, fed, paid and talked to the manager about their grievances, only then, did we get to just put our order in. Hell we watched the waitress fill multiple drinks right after being asked before coming to us to just write down our order. Which took almost a half an hour... To make chicken strips and fries, as well as a generic pancake egg bacon hasbrown combo plate.

I'm more mad at the evening manager than anything, not once did she come out to help the poor waitress until specifically asked for by the customer. At which point she tried to pawn blame off on the cooks loudly exclaiming how apparently they came in late, which is not how you handle poor services. You don't put blame on any one section or person especially when you did nothing to assist in the first place. And of all things my chicken strips managed to be dry in the middle, bland with no seasoning and over cooked near burnt!

I don’t know where to start…. This was THE WORST IHOP I HAVE BEEN TO!!! When our group of 11 showed up, there was no one at the front. We waited for about 5 minutes before I went back to the kitchen to find someone. Strike one. When we were seated, we ordered our drinks (soda, WATERS, couple minion milk shakes). Who knew it would take 20 minutes to just get a water!! One of my friends tried to order a root beer float. He was told they couldn’t do that for him because it wasn’t on the menu. The. He asked for just a glass of root beer and a side of ice cream. Again he was told no they couldn’t do that. Fine, water it is! After we ordered our food, we sat and waited for an hour. During that time no one refilled the drinks (waters and sodas). We had to wave someone down and sadly raise our voices to be heard (there was only another group of 4 at a booth in the restaurant… no one else!) Strike two. When food finally arrived it was adequately warm but could have been warmer. My friend asked for peanut butter for his meal. He was told they don’t have peanut butter…. WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!? The Meridian IHOP has peanut butter…. This place just had nothing going right. I am surprised it hasn’t been shut down because of how terrible the service was. Strike Three. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION! Don’t waste your time. Shari’s down the street would have been better. If I could leave a 0-star review I would.

And we all know what the food looks like but pictures don’t do the service...
