Shanghai Restaurant — Restaurant in Nampa

My boyfriend and I have ordered from here several times, and tonight is the LAST time we will. We spent $40 on a family dinner, and ate all of 5-6 bites between us, and had to find something else to eat. The mandarin chicken was dry, and some pieces were hard. The whole dish tasted like it was a few days old, frozen, and tossed back into a fryer. The fried rice was mushy, and had a very strong chemical taste. Almost like expired eggs. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if all the ingredients were expired. The pork from the pork and seeds was dry as hell, and almost inedible. The egg rolls were soggy, and the insides were pure mush. The broccoli chicken had the same chemical taste as the fried rice. The only thing that tasted remotely okay was the egg flower soup, and even that had barely any taste. We will NEVER be back, and the whole place should probably be inspected by a health inspector based off the chemical taste in the food. Do yourself a favor and go to meridian for better...

I’ve never seen my husband throw his food away. Ever 😂. We ordered the family pack for delivery. It included egg rolls, pork and seeds, fried shrimp, fried rice, chicken pan fried noodle, and… mystery meat sweet and sour meal. My first bite was the fried shrimp. At first I thought ‘interesting, it’s like a sourdough batter’. Now I’m beginning to think it was just sour batter. The egg rolls were odd. Each tasted different than the other in equally off-putting but unique ways. The pan fried noodles were fine but tasted awfully fishy. The chicken was gray and chewy (and ‘EW’ per my daughter). Pork and seeds: didn’t even try it but not pretty. The sweet and sour sauce was the only thing not sour…but also not tasty. The fried rice was bland and the least of our worries but, honestly, we didn’t want to risk it after everything else. We took several bites and then tossed it all. Shameful. Waste of time and money. AVOID!

We ordered for pick-up so to save on delivery. The order took a little bit of time to fill when I walked in, which was fine. I was disappointed that their dining area was not functional nor very clean looking, due to "take-out or delivery only". Very run down atmosphere.

We took the food home immediately, taking care of it during transport. One of the Styrofoam containers leaked nearly 1/3rd of the sauce into the plastic bag, making a huge mess.

The other dish, General Tso's Tofu, was not well made. The tofu was barely breaded and barely cooked (it was fresh tofu with a hint of breading, and the breading fallen off). The taste was also terrible. We had to toss the whole entree.

The portioning of rice was pathetically small, though free.

We're glad we didn't order delivery but we will NEVER order...
