Fusaro's Homemade Italian — Restaurant in Nantucket

We were a group of 8. Restaurant says it doesn’t take reservations. When we got there we were greeted by 2 women. We asked if they have room for 8 and they looked at their book and after a few minutes of mulling it over they said if we want to eat there we would have to sit separately at 2 round tables next to each other. I asked if we could push them together. The one women responded that they “can’t push two round tables together”.She looked at me as if I had asked a terrible question and responded to me as if I were a moron. How could I ever ask such a dumb question about round tables. They wouldn’t seat us until all 8 of us were there. The nastier of the two women then pointed somewhere and said to “go wait over there”. Not you are welcome to wait over there. Or would you. Mid waiting over there. She Essentially wanted us to get out of her way. While waiting, we saw 2 square tables that could easily be pushed together and also 3 tables of 2 that could be pushed together. When we asked if those tables would be available to push together, They gave us some excuse why they could not be so we continued to wait. After being seated, 20 minutes later, a group of local kids came in and they pushed the 3 tables of 2 together for the 7 of them. Why would they do that for the local kids and not my party of 8? When the main courses finally were served, 70 minutes later, the food came out 2 at a time. It took them about 10+ minutes for all 8 of our meals to show up. After waiting 70 minutes, you would think that the 8 meals would come out within seconds of each other.. That said , the linguini and clams were cold and the limone chicken was absolute rubber (had to be microwaved) with zuchinni noodles soaked in greasy butter. I have never returned a meal in my life. After the rudeness of the hostess and the wait for the food, there was no way I was not returning it. We have been coming to Nantucket for 35 years and have never eaten at Fasaros and we will never eat there again. the reason being the rudeness of the hostess. My family and I stay at our house in Madaket one week out of the year. We like to splurge a few times and eat out. We picked Fusaro’s because the food sounds delicious on the menu. I’m sad we never got to taste any of it.

Upon entering the the restaurant, the owner did not greet us , or even look in our direction. She was too engrossed with writing a takeout order for a couple ahead of us and wouldn’t even glance our way. After waiting for 7 minutes (doesn’t sound long but when you are awkwardly hanging out by the front door with staff that won’t talk to you, it seems like forever) the owner paid attention to us. We were both dressed up semi-formal so it was easy to tell we were looking for a ‘night-out’. We requested a table outside as the weather was beautiful. She told us ‘You can sit inside or at the bar. It’s Saturday night. Outside seating is only for 4 or more.’ All of this was said with a ‘come-on guys, you can’t be serious face’, too. We both felt very deflated after her response (she is the pale skinned woman with very long blonde hair BTW). Since we waited so long, we surrendered and seated in the back corner of the restaurant behind a wall where we could see nothing. It was tiny table with dim lighting and no decor. It was not a cozy place to be. The two of us felt so uncomfortable that we left the table and went one street over to Keepers Restaurant. WOW! WOW! WOW! Night and day difference with staff, decor, food, and ambiance!! Thank you Keepers Restaurant for making our night out...

This is how petty and small minded people are. Now I worked all day finish around nine tired and hungry so I decided to get some food Brussel and shrimp alfredo... fine went there got it. Ask for utensils and sat in my car to eat. Spend $55 hard earned $55 I took a bite and and found hair in the food. I wasn't mad just disappointed like why was there hair ... I mean stuff like that happen ... so I called and told them... actually person that answered was ok... she said oh wat can I do... was just gonna ask for them to redo it... But this person same as myself decided to show some power ok... this is wat she said.. dont know why u found hair in the food they covered their head and all this store.. I asked would u like me to bring it to u? You see slavery is over ... but people still can be bought and sold.... also these folkes refunded a part of my money.. Yes in all that i felt like i wasnt a customer i felt like i was begging u all food Now you tell what is $20 going to do to you. You can take that money and know you stole from me and you will always have my hard working money for free... keep it. It sure will help with ur peace of mind.
