BE AWARE DELIVERY DRIVERS OR ANYONE DOING TAKEOUT
I’m a Door Dash delivery person and I came into this restaurant with an order for delivery through Door Dash, I went to front desk, introduced myself as Doir Dash and that I was there to pick up an order for Rick. They gave me the food all tied up, (didn’t check bc if the food is tied up we are not allowed to open the bags) I put it in my bag and drop e it to the customers house. Shortly after delivering, I get a call from the customer telling me that was not their food and was wanting me to bring them the correct food. I said we are not able to check bags to make sure order is correct and he said the restaurant told him it was my fault. I told the customer I’m not suppose to go back n get the correct food bc if the order is not active than I’m not insured on that trip but that I would go back out if the kindness is my heart to get their correct food n bring it back.
I get back to the restaurant n I told the restaurant that I didn’t appreciate them telling the customer this was my fault. They were very nasty to me n told me not to blame anyone, I said I’m just telling u that you don’t know how that looks for us n that we can get bad ratings n loss our job for things like this. I told him I have two kids to take care of n that I take my job serious. He told me oh well than I should have checked the order, I explained to him that we were not allowed to open the bags once they are closed. He said well we don’t know Door Dash’s policy and I said well than maybe you shouldn’t be doing business with them if you don’t even know the rules your suppose to follow. He rudely told me to leave saying they don’t care.
I left with the food n delivered it, with no pay n now probably a bad rating. I lost all respect for Fontina’s...
Read moreFontinas is hands down the best Italian Restaurant I've experienced anywhere! One dish I love to partake in would have to be their Handmade Manicotti, I usually get it with spinach, and with their own Alfredo Sauce, I usually get a side meat with it as well, I've tried the meatball, sausage, and today the grilled chicken breast, which i found to compliment the meal perfectly. The Manicotti is tender and still manages to hold together through every cut and bite, the ingredients they use always taste fresh and cooked the way it should be. The Alfredo Sauce is amazing, I'll tell you something that's hard to do is the consistency in the sauce, it's thick enough to where it holds to the Manicotti but still manages to be creamy smooth and rich in flavor, simply the best! The bread is always great as well, toasted and warm. I've also enjoyed one of the salad choices on the menu and it was delicious and filling. Also the Chicken Marinara Sandwich is great, the Marinara is good and thick with a great flavor, it's alot to eat, in fact I ordered it before i picked it up and I asked if it would be enough to fill me up, let's just say i ate it in two sessions lol. Let me put it this way, when i order my food and I usually order between $12.00-$20.00 worth just on my own, I always drop $10.00 in the tip tray before i even sit down for my meal, even when trying something new, i have that much confidence in the peoples abilities who work here. The wait staff are super friendly and truly seem to love what they do, the food they prepare speaks volumes! Thanks Fontinas for the great food and Experience, keep up...
Read moreDelightful surprise are the words that come to mind to describe this place.
From the outside and even the first impression once you walk inside, it’s very unassuming. Looks like a regular fast food storefront for Italian food.
But then, things change…
First of all, I experienced gracious service with a smile. You definitely want to tip them when ordering since they bring the food to your table after you order and take the plate from the table as well.
I would advise to not stop and sit in the front of the restaurant. Venture inside... you will not be disappointed. Guaranteed! Check out the pictures and videos in this review.
When sitting inside, it’s easy to forget that you’re sitting in a small Italian restaurant that is right next-door to a Jewel Osco. I would even recommend bringing a date to this small Italian establishment since the inside seating is very nice with classical music like Frank Sinatra playing on the speakers, wonderful mood lighting and all with great service to boot.
I bought a simple Eggplant Parmesan hot sub. Very reasonably priced and the sandwich was really tasty. The taste of Eggplant Parmesan was up to par with what I’ve gotten at Olive Garden. And the bread.. a nice balance of soft and crispy texture. I didn’t try any other dishes here, but I bet they make other dishes with the same preparation as this one.
Go check out this place when you get a chance. You will definitely be delightfuly surprised just...
