I recently had the pleasure of dining at Golconda Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for an exceptional meal.
Appetizers: We started with the Samosa Chaat, Chicken Kabab, Chicken Tandoori. The Samosa Chaat was a delightful explosion of flavors, with crispy samosas topped with tangy tamarind chutney, yogurt, and a medley of spices. The Chicken tandoori was perfectly grilled, with a smoky flavor that complemented the creamy texture.
Main Course: For the main course, we ordered the Butter Chicken and the Goat Biryani, Goat Curry. The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, with tender pieces of chicken simmered in a luscious tomato-based sauce. The Goat Biryani was a fragrant and colorful dish, with perfectly cooked basmati rice and a generous mix of the best Goat.
Bread and Sides: The Garlic Naan was a standout, with a perfect balance of softness and crispiness, and just the right amount of garlic. The Raita and Chutney provided a refreshing contrast to the spicier dishes.
Dessert: To finish off the meal, we indulged in the Gulab Jamun and Mango Lassi. The Gulab Jamun was soft and syrupy, melting in the mouth with every bite. The Mango Lassi was a refreshing and creamy drink, with the perfect blend of sweetness and tanginess.
Service: The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to make recommendations. The food was served promptly, and the presentation was beautiful.
Overall Experience: Golconda Restaurant exceeded all my expectations. The food was authentic and delicious, the ambiance was cozy and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Golconda Restaurant is a must-visit in Chicago Area. I can’t wait to return and explore more...
Read moreI ordered Paneer Butter Masala and Malai Kofta, but unfortunately both dishes were prepared with the exact same curry base. These two items are meant to be distinctly different, yet what I received was simply paneer and kofta placed in the same watery, flavorless sauce.
When I contacted the restaurant, they acknowledged the issue and apologized, saying they “couldn’t meet the expectation.” However, this is not about expectation—if I pay for something, I should receive exactly what I ordered, not something different. Simply apologizing that expectations were not met is not acceptable when the basics of the order itself were incorrect.
It also feels like, since the order was placed through a third-party app, the restaurant assumed customers cannot do anything and therefore sent whatever they wanted. This approach is very disappointing.
I would strongly encourage the restaurant to take greater care in ensuring authenticity, quality, and accuracy in their food.
Update: In response to the owner’s reply:
That’s not what is stated in your description of the curry. According to your listing on Uber Eats (screenshot attached), the Paneer Butter Masala is described as “Paneer sautéed with tomato, bell pepper and onion, ginger, garlic and cilantro.” None of those ingredients were present in the dish I received, as shown in the picture I shared.
Also, regarding our phone conversation yesterday, I was not offered a refund as mentioned in your response. Instead, I was asked to place another order through Uber, and you said you would send the curries again. I believe those are two different things.
If the curries were indeed prepared correctly as you’ve explained, then it seems there is a mismatch between how the dish is described on Uber Eats and what is actually...
Read moreWorst Restaurant Ever.. If i could give a minus i could go to minus infinity. First of all they are South Indian specialties. And we ordered Mutton Biryani which is $18 and the quantity is half of Hyderabad house or Bawarchi. Very less quantity and taste of the mutton biryani is Awful too oily( which many other customers complained with us)and mutton is like rubber. We ordered Egg Biryani and they gave biryani base with again too much oil and the part which BLEW our brains was they made egg burji with urad dal tampering. What kind of restaurant makes egg biryani fry and tamper with Urad dal and quantity is half of any other restaurant and we are glad they gave small quantity with the awful food. And we ordered Veg Manchuria and its not fried at all very soggy and i can feel the watery maida taste. And chicken biryani where do i start with its very 🤮. I called the owner to tell him the review since its a new restaurant and he also agreed that other customers had same reviews and he would provide refund and asked last 4 digits of our card and we never received refund. My friend went to Patel today for grocery shopping and went to restaurant to check on refund status and he said he never remembered thats why i don’t trust people like this, thats why i recorded everything. DONT Trust Their Food its not Hygiene and the management is worst. Thats our...
