Heard this place serves authentic Mexican food and we certainly agree! The restaurant is a bit tiny, with 3 tables in total, one to seat four, and the rest seats two. But don't be fooled by the size and the people inside the restaurant, a lot of people come for takeout, which means these guys are popular for a reason, we will be returning guests too!!
However, be aware, as the sign in here says, "authentic Mexican food takes time." Every word in this phrase is true...
Today, we ordered steak, chicken and jamon tacos and a steak asada quesadilla.
The tacos came with corn tortilla, which wasn't our favorite, we prefer flour, but it was actually pretty decent, not dry but was soft and moist. It came with two tortillas each and lots of meat, which we split it up and ended up with 6 tacos, still had more fillings than some Mexican places! The meats had balanced seasonings and tastes pretty good. If I had to be picky, it lacks certain sweetness and was a little dry. I don't know if its just us, but it seems like everyone here ordered everything on the menu except tacos...
In comparison, our other item, the steak asada quesadilla was awesome! Every detail checked the awesome box for us, from the tortilla, to the steak, flavors and to the cheese! I will definitely be back for this!
In summary, this is a great neighborhood Mexican restaurant, suitable for takeouts, and is true to its slogan "authentic Mexican food takes time." We will be back to try the rest of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time eating here, ordered delivery via Grub Hub. Here are my thoughts on what I ordered:
Gordita with steak: Good, lots of steak. The bottom half of the Gordita shell was very oily and the oil had leaked out soaking part of the paper bag.
Barbacoa taco: Very good, but a bit greasy. Lots of meat, well worth the $5.
Pork tamale: Not good at all. The corn dough didn't seem cooked all the way. It was mushy and moist. Not much filling and the pork didn't have much flavor. I threw it out after one bite.
Side of refried beans: Large portion, very good. Made with black beans.
Side sauces: Very good. The green sauce was thicker than most green sauces, which I liked. The red sauce had a nice chipotle flavor. Both sauces could have been a bit spicier though.
Additional things: I asked for utensils, I did not get any. Food was packed in a paper bag. Refried beans and grease leaked out in bag (see photo). Maybe consider better packaging for messy items and putting the entire paper bag in a plastic bag like many Chinese places do. Under the 'side' items there was no option to order a side of sour cream, like most Mexican places. On their website, the first thing you see is the attached image with 'business'...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is an authentic Mexican restaurant. It is just a regular Mexican food spot with a variety of options on their menu. I would really love to try them all, but I only ordered a steak burrito. The whole place is clean, and it is just a small spot, and the kitchen is visible inside, and it is clean as well. The employees are very nice and friendly to all of the customers. The service is fast, even if the place is busy. I ordered the medium steak burrito at a fair and reasonable price. It is just a medium-sized car, but it looks like a large car to me considering its huge portions. It was delicious and definitely packed with good, authentic Mexican flavor. I did not add any extras to it, and for me, it is good as it is, but it is still anyoneās decision to add something, but all I can say is that it alone, with everything in it, is definitely delicious. The place is very accessible and is situated near other good spots as well. There was a lot of parking around the area, so it was not really a problem. I definitely love this authentic Mexican restaurant and I will also highly recommend it to my family and friends. I would say that it is one of the good spots...
